sb67
Thanks James, I did wonder if they worked on dc. Metcalfe yard is sitting on top of a shelf at the moment while I get on with something else. Unfortunatley I couldn't really get on with the fiddle yard so it's a bit limited operationaly. I like your plan and keep getting ideas for something similar but set in the Essex area. Steve. RMweb Gold jamest Posted October 16, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 16, 2021 Hi all, Been a while.... Dug the old girl out today for a tidy up and photo shoot. Thinking of selling her on as I rarely run anything and I have developed an O gauge habit! Cheers, James 10

When I ventured into 0 gauge I knew I wouldn't have the energy, time or resources to properly serve two scales so my 00 stuff went on the block. John hi John, Yes, demands on time, space and energy make it difficult to model in two scales. I might move on some stock but not too much, it’s always more expensive to buy it again later! regards, James 1 1

Everything else (and there was a lot) has gone. You never get anywhere near what the stuff is worth (at least not here) but I was able to fund some of my 0 gauge stock. At this moment I really can't see going back to 00. 0 gauge ticks all my boxes. John 1

RMweb Gold jamest Posted October 28, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 28, 2021 Hi all, After dusting the layout off and having a tidy up and play I’ve decided to keep it! I can easily transport it so I think I will finish it off with people, lights, signals, etc and exhibit it locally. I should be able to do it alongside my O gauge work. To that end I’ve traded in my 4MT and I am now the proud owner of a Dapol Western! Best laid plans and all that! regards James 5

I've added a hedge and barn to the bufferstop end - it is teased out horsehair 'squares' sprayed brown and then coated in scatter: And I've also added some green to the base brown on the entry side: I plan to add a fence behind the loading platform stretching along to the hedge on the road. I will add bushes and other 'rough' groundcover lineside of the fence and have the forground as a field with some livestock. All the best, James Some awesome scenic work there. Particularly impressed with how you've blended it with the backscene. Makes a change to see a more Autumn/winter feel to a layout as well.
RMweb Gold jamest Posted September 25, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 25, 2022 (edited) Hi all, Here we are a year later and I haven’t really touched the layout, or run anything on it. So I have decided to re advertise it at a lower price. I’d rather it was used and it would free up funds and space in my shed. Details in the classifieds section. As all the pictures have disappeared here are a few to remind everyone what I’m talking about. RMweb Gold jamest Posted October 22, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 22, 2022 Hi all, Happy to report the layout will be moving to its new home next week. Had a set up, clean, tweak and play session this afternoon to check everything is OK. That's the beauty of small layouts..... Not much to go wrong! I grabbed some photos... Some better than others!
