Anyone had any dealings with them since the new website came into use?

It took me an age to manage to put an order through, initially declining my credit card. I gave up at that point and came back later and started again - the sale going through this time (using a different billing address even though it wasn't the one I wanted to use). There was no confirmation email etc, which is unusual but not unique. Fast forward 2 weeks and I thought I'd check my account to see if there;s anything about status - no orders shown, but in my basket is the original unfinished and unpaid order!

Going to have to get in touch with them but looks like a reply is going to be slow given their own discouraging wording on the form.

I'd no bother with the last two orders I placed not that long ago.  You should, if the order was successful, have received an automatic reply with a unique Order No. from sales@phoenix-paints.co.uk

Did you create an account to place the order? If you have an account set up you can go in and view the status of any orders that have been placed including any that are outstanding.

I have to say the service I got from them was excellent and the orders promptly delivered within a few days.

[Edit] Sorry, I hadn't spotted that you had an account set up - if it's not there, it's not been placed, I'd try again after checking / changing your details.

The new website certainly has its flaws.  I find the most annoying part was the fact that some items do not seem to show when searched for.  I also had a similar issue with the shopping cart when I logged back in to check my order status, in that it had duplicated every line of the order, so effectively doubled everything that I had ordered.  So yes, the website definitely has its fair share of 'teething troubles'.  In defense of Phoenix though, I always found their responses to emails to be within 24 hours and if I experienced issues I was always advised to simply give them a call, or email my order directly to them and they could process it that way.

Despite the concerns over the website I've today ordered some Jackson - Evans etched brass fall plates. I had to bite the postage bullet, excessive for a bit of brass weighing less than 50g, as I won't see them at a show to later in the year. Please allow 28 days for how I get on with my order. ;)

Make that less than 24 HOURS as I received my order this morning, nothing wrong with PP's mail order service. :imsohappy: I didn't pay for next day delivery either. ;)

They were at Stevenage in January. Speaking to them then, I think it depends if they get an invite, but there isn't a policy of not doing shows.

John.

They were also at ExpoEM, but not Railex. They've dropped out of a number of shows that they used to do. Some other traders carry a selection, but rarely more than the most popular lines linked to their own specialism (e.g. Dave at Roxey doesn't carry much that doesn't go with his kits).

The website is very clunky. It's not letting me progress to payment despite changing all the variables I can.

Someone has obviously gone to a lot of trouble to populate the categories, it's a shame it's not letting me spend anything!

I too tried today to order some paint and sundries from the website, refused my order saying the vendor didn't authenticate my order, gave up as well and just ordered from Ebay, a shame as Phoenix's' range is really good and I find their paints go on a lot nice than Railmatchs' range

I tried to get on their website a couple of times yesterday and my virus protection told me that their site was a 'phishing site.' So perhaps the site has been hacked ?

The site seems awful slow to respond at the moment (maybe that's a local difficulty as we have had very patchy network availability here today), and pressing the "Load More" button when looking at the parts pages produces a total failure to do anything.

Has anyone had a recent dealing with Phoenix?

The website has a Corona notice saying:

Quote

We have therefore taken the decision not to prioritise any orders and to Pick, Pack and Dispatch in the order that they placed - ie. a first come first served basis.

Which is very understandable, I'm just trying to work out whether it makes sense to follow up on my query sent by e-mail 25 days ago.
