Sorry for the long title.....

 

I've been meaning to take a picture of this spot for ages and finally got the opportunity last week. I've always thought this place to be rather surreal, located where it is.

Bakerloo line London Road? I would always have thought that Northumberland park would be good, being the only place the Victoria line trains ever appear on the surface.

Yes, London Road. 

When I was little, I saw a photo of an Underground depot at night. I imagined they were all built underground in large caverns.

Being pedantic, I might add that the original 1967 Victoria Line stock also appeared [in passenger service] above ground when units were tested in ATO mode on the Woodford-Hainault shuttle service [on the Central Line of course]
