Thanks, Peter

What 's happened to this one? -  can't find it mentioned on the fleet list on Wikipedia. Is it a former GWR example now stored?

Cheers

Updated - I understand that 43159 has been stored at Long Marston, arriving there on 21st April;  not at Ely.

Sorry for my earlier duff info.....

Thanks for the clarification - I have moved my 'informative' reaction on to your latest post!

Cheers

Taken at Newcastle today (15th July 2019)

Both LNER endangered species together - 43257 heads an Aberdeen-Kings Cross train and passes 91109 'Sir Bobby Robson' which had arrived with a terminating train from London. Withdrawals of both types are expected to start when LNER Azuma trains start entering service from August(?)

43307 heads through Manors with the 10.00 ex-Kings Cross 'The Northern Lights'

I assume that 253 001 is on it's last journey to a museum as externally at least it's in imaculate condition, caught at 2pm this afternoon on the Plympton By-pass doing about 25mph.

Spotted on the A4174 Avon Ring Road Bristol this evening...heading towards Bath. Does anyone know it’s destination?

Bound for "Steam" at Swindon for a few days.

Thanks...in which case it was taking the long, circuitous route as it was heading south towards East of Bath /West of Bristol...perhaps St Phillips Marsh?

Definitely Swindon bound, there's a photo of it on wnxx on a low loader outside steam. Perhaps the rig had instructions to follow the GWML? :D

I know the routings of these things pre planned and must be stuck to, so I'm surprised it didn't just plod up the motorway. Between the ring road and the Bath direction it must've virtually passed my house, shame as I'd have popped out had I known
