Vespa
For those of you who may have used David's website, I was shocked to read that David died on March 17th 2018. As I had lost some interest in railways I haven't visited his site for a while until this week and saw the sad news. http://www.davidheyscollection.com/

RMweb Premium 31A Posted June 10, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 10, 2018 Very sorry to hear this, I refer to his site frequently and in fact was just looking at it this morning! It is a wonderful resource for photos; he must have been very knowledgeable and gone to enormous lengths to create it. I hope it can remain available somehow. pharrc20
That is a shame indeed I helped David to caption photos of the I.C.I. Hopper trains in his E.R. Morten album a couple of years ago. Paul

RMweb Premium polybear Posted June 11, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 11, 2018 From the website: It is with deep regret that we, David's daughters Sarah and Nicola, announce that David passed away on March 17, 2018 after a short illness. He died peacefully at Wheatfields Hospice in Leeds. This incredible website is Dad's legacy, not just to us but all of you who visit. We will keep it live for the foreseeable future however it won't be possible to update any pages. The site is due to be archived by the National Archive/British Library and we will update you in due course.
HighlandRailwayman
Very sad news on David's passing. It appears that the original website is not working at the moment. Does anyone know if this temporary or if it has migrated to the british library. Id hate to see it go as it was an amazing resource of outstanding photos. RMweb Gold Wellyboots Posted February 10, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 10, 2019 David's site has been archived on the Internet Archive "Wayback Machine" and can be found here; https://web.archive.org/web/20181227035554/http://www.davidheyscollection.com/ I've checked about 10 or so random pages and most are complete, a few have the odd picture missing, hopefully the other pages are there too. Looks like I'll be spending a fair amount of time this week going through David's work!
HighlandRailwayman
Hi Wellyboots, I had completely forgotten about the way back machine despite my better half mentioning it numerous times! shall definitely be doing some eploring of it tonight, and lets hope that it gets preserved in its entirety for the future.
