For those of you who may have used David's website, I was shocked to read that David died on March 17th 2018. As I had lost some interest in railways I haven't visited his site for a while until this week and saw the sad news.

Many thanks for the heads up - have certainly used this fantastic resource in the past and will continue to do so

We all owe David and his like a huge vote of thanks for their efforts for creating such valuable and useful resources....they live on in their records

Very sorry to hear this, I refer to his site frequently and in fact was just looking at it this morning!  It is a wonderful resource for photos; he must have been very knowledgeable and gone to enormous lengths to create it.  I hope it can remain available somehow.

Very sad news, his site is fantastic, I emailed him a few times with information for his site and always thanked me for my input

Would be great if somehow his site could carry on ,basically as a tribute to him and all his hard work in setting it up

RIP David

Very sad to hear this news, I have used his website frequently over the years it has been an invaluable source of information.

Lets just hope that the site can be kept running both as a reference work for railway enthusiasts and a tribute to David.

David's site has been archived on the Internet Archive "Wayback Machine" and can be found here;

I've checked about 10 or so random pages and most are complete, a few have the odd picture missing, hopefully the other pages are there too. Looks like I'll be spending a fair amount of time this week going through David's work!
