They are slightly different in diameter too

Not that unusual to see 20" and 22'' head buffers as long as they are the same on each side of the cab. not the bottom part of the cab is missing on the LH one.

I’m looking at the cab window of the one on the left... is it me or does the glazing not go flush to the corner ? - must be a bit cold ?

25’s are scrapyard mongrels, none of them are the same.

What you can see is the inner sliding window with its metal strip, the front corner pain of glass is missing

Yes.  The rearward of the two panes of glass in the side window has been slid forward as far as it can go.

Well if no one else is going to say it, the extent of the yellow at the bottom corner of the cab window is different, so on the right the yellow is wider below the cab side window

Well, nobody other than 25901 when he posted the photos ;)

An inch on 1:1 scale version. How does that scale down in 4mm ?

Really not worth thinking about and there always were variants in painting in the days before vinyl liverying. .

On a large piece,m of model, 1/3mm doesn’t make a great deal of difference (in fact on my model of LH&JC No.5, the donor Bachmann’s 56xx chassis is out by 1mm on each of the rear two driven axles compared to a 56xx drawing, and it doesn’t really show), but on smaller details, 1/3mm can represent parts 2x bigger than they should be.

Maybe fractions of mm in themselves may not be particularly noticeable, but when they pertain to a fixed point, ie, the window frame then the difference is a tad more obvious.
