stewartingram
Just after 10am this morning I met a low-loader carring a GC coach, which I think was a Buffet Car. I met it between Warboys & Chatteris on the A141 in Cambridgeshire. Any ideas where it came from, and was going to? My guess is that as EMT have taken over the GC trains, it was possibly coming from somehere like Leicester or Derby, tying in with the A14 to Huntingdon and then on the A141. As for destination? I have a short list of possibilities: Norwich (Crown Point though the A14/A11 would be more likely (refurb). Snailwell but A14 again more sensible (scrap). Ely (storage). Mid Norfolk Rly (storage or preservation), they are taking GA stock for storage. North Norfolk (preservation). Any ideas? Simon Bendall
Derby Etches Park to Potter Group Ely for storage. EMT has replaced the ex GC buffets with ex GWR ones as the latter have a larger kitchen area.
