I’ve built up the board at the rear of the platform, the theory being that when I apply the static grass the taller grass will be visible through the fencing

Its a bit rough and not to my usual standards but once covered in grass it should be fine

I’ve taken delivery of a few figures from Hardy’s Hobbies to put to work around the ash pit

This chap has had the oil cans he was carrying removed and I’m building up a coopercraft wheelbarrow with the handles at roughly the same distance apart as the guys hands, hence the extra piece of plasticard

I’ll also build up a wheelbarrow to put next to the bloke shovelling

I’ve had a go at painting the wheelbarrow, I assumed the frame and handles would be wooden with a cast wheel

I need to weather it to darken up the ‘wood’ and half fill with ash but before I do I’d appreciate any input because looking at it I’m wondering if the frame should be cast/wrought iron too?

In my view, the frame is far too chunky to be made of iron, and I think your guess at wood is correct.

Thanks Al,

That was the very reason I assumed it was wooden, similar to a porters trolley

Being the task master that I am Barry has been put straight to work

I’d better hurry up and build another wheelbarrow to keep him busy :jester:

I still need to have a play around with their final positions but I didn’t think it was a bad idea having Barry heading towards the barrow crossing (to justify it being there )

As Barry has pushed off with the wheelbarrow where's  'Shovelin Stan ' going to put the next spade full of ash ......... or has his back given in and he' s got stuck in that position

Barry pinched it whilst Stan wasn't looking

I've got another wheelbarrow to make up so Stan can get back to shovelling soon

Not done anything on the layout this weekend although I have been busy in the layout room

Despite building some shelving in the alcove under the baseboard a while ago

I’ve still been struggling with storage and have had bits and pieces all over the baseboard

So I’ve made up a couple of frames using 2x1 timber, painted them the same colour as the walls and popped ‘grey oak’ contiboard on the top....as well as replacing the awful kitchen worktop that was on top of the meter cupboard

Not exactly grand designs but at least I’ve got a load more storage

incidentally the curtains are not my choice, I wanted Thomas the Tank Engine curtains
