Not much difference between masking the flashing and doing the green or doing the green and repainting the flashing! You have to build these effects up in stages...

You're quite right of course

Looking at the photos I think I may need to repaint the flashing in blue/grey

I honestly wouldn't bother Chris, lichen and moss are quite as happy to live on lead as they are on stone.

It's a cracking job of weathering, it looks great.

Thanks Al

I must admit I’ve already done it

But I really don’t know what I was moaning about because it took all of three minutes to drag a brush across it

I'll weather it with a bit of white or very light grey

That's the way it is. The smallest thing can assume mountainous proportions when the dog bites.

Looks really good.

I’ve redone the stepped flashing against the wall

Once the glue/paint dries I’ll trim if necessary and redo the flashing on the tiles

I do hate these cruel close ups because it shows every single imperfection

Hopefully it will look much better once dry, weathered and sealed with matt varnish

Flashing rarely looks perfect on the real thing after it’s been on for a while.....that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it

Thanks guys

I’ve made a start on the bargeboards, this time I bought different widths of 0.5mm thick strips instead of cutting widths from a sheet

3mm wide on the back, 4mm and 1.5mm on the front

The overall thickness is 1.5mm with is perfect, the previous attempt was too thick (thicker than the tile overhang) and I had to file it back quite a lot

The bargeboards are only offset from the wall by half a millimetre with isn’t really enough but better than hard up against the wall and there is still a slight shadow line

Also managed to rescue the previously made valance

I might look at putting a fascia down the sides too

Is there a reason why the ends of the bargeboards are different? The left end is squared off as it meets the canopy but the right comes to a point.

I didn’t think it looked too bad once the valance is in place?

I thought it tricked the eye into thinking it was possibly the same at each end but the valance covered what you can’t see?

I don’t know now, I’ll have to think about it

Looks fine Chris. Don't model what you can't see.

I’ve started to wallpaper the station masters study

The paper is based on a 1930’s pattern which I drew on CAD and printed off on card.

Because of the thickness of the windows I’ve mounted the card on plasticard to offset it from the outside wall.....so basically there is now a cavity :laugh_mini:

I’m only doing this because when the room is lit you can see in through the window

You want to be careful mate, this way lies insanity...

Next thing you know you'll be making 4mm scale Queen Anne chairs:

Not quite a Queen Anne but he does have a Chesterfield to sit on

It’s from Scale Model Scenery, unfortunately it’s a bit rough (low resolution 3D print) so I’m going to have to sand it down quite a bit
