I'd love one of these wagons, do you think Shapeways will be flogging them to the public. 1

Thank you As with the AA6 Brake van body, once I’ve put one together and made sure everything is as it should be I will adding it to my Shapeways shop for anyone to purchase 1
RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted August 8, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 8, 2020 Had a bit of a play this morning Cleared out the holes and added some 0.4mm styrene rod Checked the fitting of the bushes And test fitted the wheels One the first version the brake pads were too close and slightly off center, I’ve addressed this and there is now more clearance This is going to be one of my usual ‘takes far too long’ builds so you’ll have to bear with me 8

RMweb Gold Popular Post chuffinghell Posted August 8, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 8, 2020 (edited) I need to get some more dummy screw link couplings before I can do the other end, it’s not something I planned on doing. I had to squish them to make them narrower but I’m quite pleased with how they have turned out Managed to thread a 0.3mm brass bar through the brake assembly Edited August 8, 2020 by chuffinghell 11 9

Thanks guys, I try my best. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to finish the brake van soon (I just want to get the thing finished) just waiting on some additional transfers from Raltec Once my dummy screw couplings arrive I’ll be able to do a bit more on the Loriot too, with those fitted I’ll be able to give it another coat of primer and start painting Due to the lockdown all the suppliers I use appear to be suffering with a large back log of orders so things are taking a little longer to arrive unfortunately

The rivets are there masked underneath the 42272 number.

You’re quite right, I purposely left the area clear of rivets for the transfers I’ve never had much luck putting transfers over rivets (even when using microset and microsol) so I’ve cheated and left a clear area for the number as a compromise. Hopefully once painted and weathered it will be less obvious....maybe? 1 hour ago, 57xx said: The "slot in" axleboxes are a genius solution to fitting the wheels! I'm sure once it is all painted up and transferred, it won't be visible. Another neat solution.
RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted August 11, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 11, 2020 AA6 Brake van update The additional transfers have arrived today from @railtec-models and as always they have exceeded all expectations They are that crisp and clear that they make the HMRS transfers look like I’ve hand painted them on with a wire brush blindfolded whilst jumping up and down on one leg! It’s affected my OCD to the extent of removing the HMRS transfers I had applied and what I’ve got left will be ceremonially burned....or put on eBay Luckily I have a plan and it’s in hand.....watch this space I am not affiliated with @railtec-models just a satisfied customer 2
RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted August 11, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 11, 2020 Loriot update Still waiting for bits but at least I have the running number transfers One day I will wait until I’ve got everything before starting a project.....yeah like that will ever happen

MrWolf
I do know a guy who says that he won't start a project until he has all the missing parts. He is in his seventies, owns over 250 motorcycles and in the thirty odd years that I have known him, I have never once seen him riding one. As you were, Private. 1
