I’ll be adding some bushes/brambles/shrubbery behind and in and around the fence too

Looks so much better now it’s in in rather than plonked.

The knights will be pleased about the shrubbery. The contours are perfect for tiered effects.

Indeed, they've got the little fence...

I think perhaps you need to treat the wires to some brown or rust coloured paint - the weathering powders don't seem to have stuck.

But other than that, it looks very good, and Mr Wolf can stop feeling guilty... :D

Yes it is rather disappointing, when laying flat they looked suitably weathered but upright they to catch the light

I will attempt to paint them and try not to get paint on the grass

How about this Al?

For now it’s in the same colour as the posts but once dry I’ll use some weathering powders again

I’ve painted as low as I dare, hence why the bottom wires aren’t as well covered

While I’m waiting the tree is no longer naked

Thanks Al,

I have to confess I thought the wires looked sh*te as they were. I’m happier with it now it seems to blend in

Interesting progress, that looks very convincing now like it was meant to be there, what are you using to make that tree?

I’ve used seafoam (Teloxis Aristata)

Nicely done sir! With or without Bertie it now looks like the road goes somewhere. I think that some smaller bushes will hide the edge of the embankment.

This has had a double effect though, I just showed your picture to Miss Riding Hood and the immediate response was: Oo, very nice, perhaps that will spur you on to get yours built??

I have a sneaking suspicion that wasn't so much a question as an instruction.... :scratchhead:

Thank you, I only put Bertie on there for a bit of fun and to comply with the ‘bus on a bridge’ law

I do intend to add some bushes etc behind the fence

Many thanks to your good lady too

You’ll have to start up a layout thread :good:

Note, on your wire fence, you need to put angled supports at each end. You have that in your drawing, but not in the model.

This is a part of wire fencing that is often overlooked when modelled.

I can’t take credit for the drawing as it was done by @MrWolf

I’m sure they could be added without  too much trouble, thanks J

Will I get away with this?

Not done the bottom one yet

Yep that works. There are two main ways of bracing the end like this as per:

There's some other interesting ways of doing it too, but you've covered the simplest way, esp with an incline like this.

Try some washes say 50/50 of rust along the length with a similar mix of black grey where the wire joins the post, 2mm on wire.

Might need a couple of coats.

I’ll give that a try, thank you for your help/advice

Thanks J,

I felt it would be better (and easier) to go for the simplest option especially with everything already being in situ.

Thanks for everyone’s help, suggestions and continued support, it’s appreciated
