MrWolf
He looks like the sort of bus that was made from bits of wood and designed by someone who could draw. Therefore he is entirely exempt from bus related displeasure.

RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted November 11, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2020 (edited) I think perhaps you need to treat the wires to some brown or rust coloured paint - the weathering powders don't seem to have stuck. But other than that, it looks very good, and Mr Wolf can stop feeling guilty... Al. Yes it is rather disappointing, when laying flat they looked suitably weathered but upright they to catch the light I will attempt to paint them and try not to get paint on the grass 1

For now it’s in the same colour as the posts but once dry I’ll use some weathering powders again I’ve painted as low as I dare, hence why the bottom wires aren’t as well covered While I’m waiting the tree is no longer naked Edited November 11, 2020 by chuffinghell 15

MrWolf
Interesting progress, that looks very convincing now like it was meant to be there, what are you using to make that tree? Edited November 11, 2020 by MrWolf 1

MrWolf
Nicely done sir! With or without Bertie it now looks like the road goes somewhere. I think that some smaller bushes will hide the edge of the embankment. This has had a double effect though, I just showed your picture to Miss Riding Hood and the immediate response was: Oo, very nice, perhaps that will spur you on to get yours built?? I have a sneaking suspicion that wasn't so much a question as an instruction.... 1 1

Thank you, I only put Bertie on there for a bit of fun and to comply with the ‘bus on a bridge’ law I do intend to add some bushes etc behind the fence Many thanks to your good lady too You’ll have to start up a layout thread 2
Julia
Note, on your wire fence, you need to put angled supports at each end. You have that in your drawing, but not in the model. This is a part of wire fencing that is often overlooked when modelled. J Edited November 13, 2020 by Julia 2

KNP
Try some washes say 50/50 of rust along the length with a similar mix of black grey where the wire joins the post, 2mm on wire. Might need a couple of coats. 1 1

There are two main ways of bracing the end like this as per: There's some other interesting ways of doing it too, but you've covered the simplest way, esp with an incline like this. RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted November 14, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 14, 2020 I’ve used the offcuts of the seafoam that I would have thrown away to make some ‘bushes’ behind the fence in some areas I’ve tried to pull some of the bushes through the fence 12
