I could design my own

Which of these would be more appropriate?

The Engines must not pass this board is the most familiar to me.

Unless of course it's hauling a dozen or so stake wagons loaded up with a shrubbery?

I've had a dig through the old stuff I have here because I was convinced  that I had an appropriate sign. I found etches Wizard LS003, Mike's Models 711, Smith's LN4 and Tiny Signs photo No79.

Epic fail. Closest I found was "All down goods & mineral trains must stop dead here". Which is still neither use nor ornament.

It's no good, I have to be the bearer of bad news. I was hoping KNP would spot it and save me from this. The strut on the inside of your personnel door goes the wrong way. My dad, a builder said the easy way to remember is hangman . See my sketch. The strut should be supporting the otherwise unsupported rail.

This is the best solution short of redoing it

I like that, it reminds me of something that my other half would say such as: "One simply doesn't wear trainers outside of a gym."

Would she really say "outside of"? :D

I did, but I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news after such a sterling effort to date.

Thank you Kevin

Hopefully my add-hoc solution will suffice

Fortunately it’s not ‘on display’ as it were

Looks much better with some scenery behind it, despite the odd thing I’ve done wrong its starting to look the part

Well done Chris, that really does look the part.

Yes, but if he does that one, all the engines will ignore it.

Not all but Thomas probably would, he’s done it before!

I actually like the ‘engines must not pass the arch’ sign but perhaps not correct

Do you have a turntable pit you can reverse a 14XX into?

The long answer - Had I got more space or the eyesight and dexterity required for N gauge I might well have

Short answer - Nope!

Serious answer: row 3, column 2.

Frivolous answer: row 3, column 3.

Alternative frivolous answers:

"I've told you once already..."

"Abandon hope all ye who enter here".

"Don't even think about it".

"You know what will happen if..."

etc., etc.

Agreed

You could also have "Only enter if you think your hard enough"
