Of course not. She definitely doesn't want me for my money. If it was my first wife or some of my other exes, my inner cynic would agree with you, but she's likely to inherit far more from her own family than I am. I need to stop selling paintings and saw a few cows or sharks in half. At present I don't think that my estate would buy you a new car. Or anything 0 gauge...

I too have the same obsession with rust. How it forms, where it forms, the change of colour with age etc. Rust is a very absorbing subject. When it is done badly or randomly it looks truly awful. Random splotches of rust on a BR 16 tonner for instance is a pet hate of mine. Reference photos are essential for a good representation of rust. RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted April 7, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2021 (edited) The interior has now had two coats of ‘off-white’ all round, even the wall that is potentially is out of sight I’ll attempt to dirty it up mostly in the corners and along the bottom maybe?....I don’t know, I’m winging it Would it be plausible to have boxes stacked here? I was going to put them inside but I thought it would add a little interest with a chap outside moving them around?...I’ll still put some things inside too I don’t know, I’m open to opinions Not sure if I have weathered the building too much or too little but I think I should leave it at that now because I want to crack on with the assembly and I’ve spend the last three days tinkering with it Edited April 8, 2021 by chuffinghell 11
MrWolf
Dark and dusty in corners and near the ceiling, damp dirty and damaged near the floor. I don't know if this picture taken in our attic of sorts is any help. I doubt that back wall has been whitewashed in half a century. 1

Top edge where the roof timbers are abutting the wall. The rest, very light. Colourwise, I would start with dark earth, given its close match to the off white, with perhaps smoke right in the angle applying the smoke first as the earth over the top would then mute it as it was blended in. MrWolf
Such a building is likely to have been gas lit, probably right until closure and there would be a fine coating of soot higher up the walls and around the roof. I don't actually know whether locomotives were permitted to run through a goods shed, or whether wagons were barred along / winched / horse shunted beyond the door or out of the back. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can confirm?

But I must admit I didn’t think a loco would enter the goods shed either but I suppose it could have happened? 1

Al. Thanks for the reassurance Al, I tend to second guess everything I do just lately. The more I do the more I want to try and get it right. Unfortunately I've got to redo the exterior of the end wall because a coat of varnish washed away the weathering powders, I forgot to 'fix' the powders with isopropyl first (it was late and I just plain forgot) aaaarrrrrggggg Edited April 8, 2021 by chuffinghell
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted April 8, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 8, 2021 This is the goods warehouse at Cromford, note the big sign above the door: "Engine Must Not Enter This Warehouse" You could have something similar. Al. 5

MrWolf
Cromford could well be an example of "local prohibition" IIRC the goods shed served a cloth mill at the end of the canal. You can imagine that they wouldn't want to mix burning coal with bales of new cloth.

MrWolf
Just for reference purposes, I have taken some pictures of old limewash in various grubby corners of Schloss Von Wulf. You can also see some of the hugely valuable junk that Miss R will make a fortune from "when I pop my clogs.".. Warning - image heavy.
