I thought about what you said regarding lighting having to be at a level that could be reached plus @MAP66 suggestion of a lamp light made me think that the light would be thrown out and upward

Yep, it looks spot on mate.

I’d not considered that, I just assumed they would have had gas in the mid thirties

Medstead and Four Marks, on what is now the Mid-Hants, didn't get electricity at all until the 1960s, and never had gas - the whole station was oil lit before that.

I’ve given @MAP66’s suggestion more thought as I think I was unfair to dismiss it so quickly.

as a test I’ve drilled a hole through a spare crate, cross drilled a tail lamp and threaded the micro LED through

I know it’s rough but I’m just testing the idea

It will be interesting to see the effect inside the building once it’s gone dark

I’ve tried to further refine it by using a lamp from the Hornby loco detail pack and a painted crate

Unlike the other lamp the Hornby lamp is white plastic so when you fire up the LED it lights up the whole thing, obviously not desirable in a headlamp but ideal for my purposes

And fighting my OCD something different in the other corner

I suppose I’d better paint up the other barrels

Chris if you paint the lamp black and then white and scrape all the paint off the lens the light will only show through the lens.

Hi Lez,

I Agree but I want it to illuminate the building so it does exactly what I need it to do. The ‘lamp’ is merely to disguise the LED and wiring in the highly unlikely event the building is photographed from the ‘unseen’ side thus

If that makes any sense?

Strange question, but: which direction is North? And what time of year is it?

The reason I ask, is you have milk churns out in the open. If they are full, they want to be kept in the shade, and should really be going as direct as possible to the dairy before the milk can spoil, not hanging around at the goods shed for any length of time.

Wouldn't they perhaps be at the platform anyway, ready for attachment to the next passenger train?

Probably, I’m happy for others to suggest where stuff should be going because I’m just winging it at the moment

Hi Chris, I agree with Julia and Graham T above, the Milk would probably go via a Passenger Train, in the Brake Van and kept in the shade, probably even if empty. Just my thoughts.

On the other hand, that Goods Shed is looking superb.

I was picturing it with charred roof timbers as if a Fire had occurred a day or two ago leaving the opportunity to see the wonderful work inside more closely.

This is what happens when you haven’t got a clue what You’re doing  I can put them on a porters trolley on the platform maybe although there isn’t really anywhere in the shade on the platform so I might just have to leave it

Thanks Andy, making it up as I go along as usual hence the odd mistake, incorrectness and/or inconsistency

Fortunately you can still see quite a lot though the skylights

It's really nice Chris. What ground cover are you going with, sets or ash?

Regards Lez.

Thanks Lez

I will more than likely go for an ash ground cover but it’s not been decided yet

I don’t think I have to worry too much about them being in the shade....

I’ve knocked together a Coopercraft trolley, (I’ve got a couple of packs so if I’ve done it wrong I’ve got a few more to go at)

I’m wondering if the wheels should be red instead of black?

Better to ask now than being told they’re wrong after I’ve painted them all
