Applied a little dark earth weathering powder in an effort to tone it down a bit

Opinions welcome.....before I paint the remaining four/five

Hi Chris the white looks fine, but the border appears too wide/thick if you compare it with the GWR photo. It's nearly as wide as the window frames.

Interesting to compare the two side-by-side:

I agree with Jonathan that the border is a bit too wide, and therefore stands out if painted white.

Have you got any 10thou microstrip, Chris? You could put some white round the edge of the one with the brown background.

I thought the frame looked too thick too so I’ve trimmed around the perimeter

I admit that after painting them white the frames looked far too thick and I did consider making something from scratch but it looks like I’ve gotten away with modifying the existing items.

wouldn't have bothered me too much as I’ve printed plenty of posters

Nah, but if anyone has the Peco notice boards, is modelling GWR and has access to Excel I’ll send them the file for them to print off themselves

If they have been nice to me ;)

Thanks Al,

I was a little concerned about making my own but they’ve turned out quite well considering I did them on Excel and we’ve only got cheap n nasty bog standard paper at work.

Although the laser printer we have is a good one

I obviously did them during my lunch break :mocking_mini:

Oh well I must say the wide notice board with the timetables on has turned out better than I expected

I’m still playing about with the positions, other than the timetable board that’s been glued into position

I’ve been toying with the idea of a metcalfe wall clock on the waiting room wall but I’ve no idea how big they are or it it would be too much?

Personally, I'd say no to the Clock, I think it would clutter the place up a bit to much mate.

I think you’re right

Do you think I should remove the boards from the station masters house too or do they look okay

No. This is advertising, essentially, so they would put them wherever they could.

If you look at period photos, they stuck advertising anywhere they could fit it in, more so than we do now, even.

Thanks Al

I feel less apprehensive about gluing them in place now

I also want to put one between the door and window of the booking office but I’m planning on this being either a empty board or one with a timetable

Hi Chris, did you use the downpipes that came with the kit? The house I'm building is the station house kit, which looks like it's got the same parts as your station and the downpipes are a bit bowed and hard to use, just wondered.

Steve.
