I’ve found one , reading in September 92, pretty much spot on. And it had been repainted in RES by 29/12/92 so maybe the powers that be saw the state of it.

ill contemplate getting one, would have been easy at £169, bit more arduous as £189

Yeah if it had been £189 when it was on pre-order I would have thought about it a lot more before buying, however it is a great model and runs brilliantly straight from the box, very smooth and quiet.

I’m just wondering if anyone has attempted to remove or tone down the weathering on this model?

It’s currently significantly reduced but for circa 86/87 period that I model it would need to be in a lot better nick! I’m not sure if all the fading and marks are ‘over’ a pristine paint job or part of the core decoration?

Ive successfully removed the heavy weathering from a Heljan 27 but unsure if these are the same approach.

thanks
