Peter Kazmierczak
Not sure if there's already a thread for the Class 800 (and derivative) IETs. Also not sure if an IET is a DMU. Anyway, this is "in the landscape", so one out of three isn't bad... 800314 leaving Saltford Tunnel on today's 1402 Weston-super-Mare to Paddington. An after-thought... Railfreight1998
170410 rolls into the mist north of Stonehaven while carrying out RILA surveying across east Scotland (the mast was on the front of the unit). It was running about 12 late at this point, so on a day when there was virtually no scotrail paths being used, it actually managed to delay the LNER 800 following behind. The unusual schedule for anyone interested: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:M61105/2021-07-04/detailed#allox_id=0

RMweb Gold 4630 Posted July 20, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 20, 2021 (edited) Until the last year or so the line between Huddersfield and Sheffield via Penistone was operated almost exclusively by class 144 Pacers. With the Pacers now history, on 20th July 2021 a Northern Trains class 158 approaches its booked stop at Berry Brow... ... and departs, after one passenger boards. Ben B
Class 101 on the KWVR last weekend; it hasn't seen much use with the needs of Social Distancing, so it was nice to see it out, even if it was just being shunted around the yard at Haworth.

I know exactly what you mean @Northmoor. This was my first visit to Par where I've had the opportunity to take railway photographs and I had two objectives in the limited time that I had available; Take some photos of the signalling infrastructure before it disappears and if the timing was right, photographs any china clay workings. I'd have liked to have explored around Goonbarrow and the Fowey line too, but didn't have the chance this time. Standing on the platforms though, I was also struck by what I'd missed in my teens and early twenties that I could have enjoyed photographing there if I'd been able to visit...Westerns...class 50s...all manner of other diesel classes on freight...HSTs after their introduction on West of England services. 1
