Recent Facebook postings indicate that the Foyle Valley Railway Museum has re-opened https://www.facebook.com/FoyleValleyRailway/  with postings of recent visits from volunteers from Stradbally & the County Donegal Heritage centre

Interesting photos of the interior including CDJR stock and what looks like a partially restored LLSR coach!

I also sent an email to destained, the charity who owns the building. They haven’t responded yet (obviously) but there is good news!! They are trying to reopen it as a tourist attraction and best of all..... THEY HAVE SENT ONE OF THE ENGINES AWAY FOR A COMPLETE RESTORATION!!! YAY!

Yeah. Unfortunately it was during summer 2017 and you had to pre book. Still, there’s always the future.

I bought the South Eastern Finecast turntable kit for my GNRi layout as its only 10" and hand operated. Its a well-type turntable similar to Omagh and many other GNRi stations.

10.25" is still pretty big. I wonder if Dave could be persuaded to do a smaller one.

You can see by the picture attached that the L&LSR turntables were just about the length of an engine and no more. I can’t find an official length for the table but the men beside it may help. Any ideas?

Found an article on the L&LSR online which on P30 refers to not being able to turn the two 4-8-0 locomotives on L&LSR turntables without detaching the tenders, as the turntables were only 30 feet diameter.
