Cat sighting reported .... still trying to find the little old Dude though Best regards Craig. Cheers mate, I've been checking your F/B Page every couple of hours for some good news. At least he was seen local last night. When you find him, tie an Anchor to his Tail and a Church Bell to his collar, then he cant run far, and if he does, the whole of North Wales will hear his Bell Ringing.

Andrew P
So, a couple of hours in the Garden trimming Trees / Bushes, and clearing the area where the old Shed was, then into the POD and had an idea. Some while ago did a deal, (as you do) with a mate of mine swapping a Bachmann Van for a couple of old Hornby Dublo Colour Light Signals. Now as we all know, they are far to big for OO Gauge, but I thought that if I could extend the tube, they might be ok for O. I played about but they didn't look right, so in the end, I decided to go for Ground Signals. I replaced the Bulbs with LED's and then found some black straws for taking the wires through the board, and covering the back of the beast. Once painted Black they should look fine, NOT PROTOTYPICAL, BUT O.K. for me. Once Ballasted in, it should look fine, just the second one to do later.
Father Dougal
That is a good idea. I might get some. 1 1

Andrew P
This afternoon I made up the second Ground Signal, and here are some pics of the basic components. As said earlier, they are By Coloured Red / Green LED's so one leg had to be cut off from each one. The Resistor goes on the middle / Common Leg. And I'd run out of Green wire so used some Yellow.
Andrew P
So this second Signal protects the exit from the Loop.
Andrew P
Finally I decided to put repeaters on the Control Panel. All was going well until I melted my last switch, so tomorrow I'll pop out and get some more, as I have another 2 or 3 Signals coming from my mate John.
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted August 3, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 3, 2020 Hi Andy You ain't going to like me. Ground signals like you have modeled have the red light at the top. The red light should always be the closest to the drivers eye.

Clive I always understood that the red was at the bottom so that snow couldn't accumulate on the hood for the lamp below. That said, I suppose the close proximity to the ground probably makes it more likely that snow would accumulate on said ground more readily that on the lens hood.
