Barnaby
Happy VE day. Andy it's great looking at your previous modelled layouts as there is always a clue to how to make a particular section look better. It could be a wall or a view blocker or a scene that just looks right thanks keep them coming. Best Edited May 8, 2020 by Barnaby

Happy VE Day, Andy. Magnificent pose of the 47 and 37 together. Great angle to show how imposing they are although I prefer them in West Coast Railways livery, myself. And I see it has been raining in Bala Town. Love it! Be good. Be safe. _________ Best wishes Polly 1

Best Thanks Barnaby, That's also why I take a camera to Shows, and on a good Show I can take over 100 Photos, mainly of small areas that I can use / pinch ideas from in the future. Every little helps. And thanks for the VE day mention, really appreciated, and the same to you and your Family and all my Followers.

I did cop this one out of my Hotel Room window at Eastleigh last October, Mayflower was on the other end, but had gone by the time I rushed down stairs.

Hi Andy. Just looking at the pictures of Bala Town. The point work looks to be Peco (correct me if i'm wrong) but a few of them seem to have a slight curve in them. Do Peco do curved points in O gauge or did you do some trickery to get them to bend?

Yes Peco, and a lot of trickery Ray, I cut away the webs and then ease it around a little, on some I had to solder a bit of wire along the switch rail where the sliding fish plate is, to help hold it in place.. I have just made a right point into a bit of a Y point on SMS where it will feed the new Fiddle Yard. In this pic you can just see that the right hand rail in the picture has a slight curve in it, (it should be strait for a right hand Point), and will be tweeked a bit more to the right when I finally connect the next board up. The Rail coming strait down off the right will be the feed to the new Fiddle Yard, so will actually go over to the right in this pic, or in other words, bear left from the Point once finished and fixed. I hope this is of some help, I also do the same in OO for better transition curves. Also meant to say that Peco do a BIG Curved Point in O Gauge Ray. Andrew P
This morning I went for a walk and to take a photo of this model of a Spitfire just around the corner from here in a chaps garden, even the prop goes around in the wind. I meant to post this here this morning and forgot. Edited May 8, 2020 by Andrew P

Surprised that; A, he has permission, and B, it's not been vandalised.
RMweb Gold jcarta Posted May 8, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 8, 2020 I thought it was a celebration to mark VE Day. It still looks good though and glad it hasn't been vandalised especially with the minority of idiots we seem to have in our mist nowadays
Andrew P
2019 also saw the emergence of Mason Street, (Goods) and although short lived, it deserves an airing in the Blast from the Past series. It never did get Ballasted and was Sold as you see it.
Andrew P
O Gauge really comes into it's own when you can get up close and personal with some low level shots like this of 37206, just a pity it's not a clean sharp image though.

I'll have a look at that after the move and we are upgrading to an electric line rather than using a very old Pidgeon to transmit the Signal, and apparently we will have something called a Fruit and Fibre Optical washing Line? It may be a few Months, to get the Garage fitted out and the frame built but I do have all the new Plans drawn, and most of the timber for that job in stock. It's the walling, flooring and lighting that may take the time plus knocking in the doorway, so that will be fun with a capital F.
Andrew P
Argyle Street is the last but one in this Blast from the Past series, again from 2019/20, and there are many previously un seen photos here, as the Layout was sold to Colin from Essex who had also bought my Kingsmill TMD Layout earlier in 2019.
Andrew P
Three for the price of one today with 37206 on the Fuel Road and Blue Class 20, No 20142 and an unidentified Railfreight 20 running with it out of Seven Mills into the Top Yard. What has been your most enjoyable layout in terms of building and running ? Jim Funnily enough that was going to be my question tomorrow after my last BftP tomorrow. I've just spent the morning looking back through some Videos, and at the moment it may well be Kings Moreton, and maybe in the Western Region era with the long Van and Coal Trains running through the long reverse curve and over the Canal Section. I did enjoy New Mills, (tomorrows offering) for Modern Image, but really that needed to be a roundy to work properly. I did say a few pages back that Pencarne Junction had a lot of potential, so yes again, maybe a mix of that and Kings Moreton would have been good. A mate of mine has just had to re build his WR Hydraulic Era Layout and only has a small Station for Local Services, and the Main Line has a pair of loops to hold long Freight, much like KM had, and that works well. I've also just totted up the value of my O Gauge Stock and Layout.

RMweb Gold DaveF Posted May 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 10, 2020 Andy, I'm enjoying looking at the photos of your earlier layouts. In the days when I was part of a group building layout for exhibitions I thought we were prolific, but you have us beaten! How did you find time to build them all? Best wishes for your move - is all your non railway stuff packed yet? David

Best wishes for your move - is all your non railway stuff packed yet? David Thanks Dave, I have skipped quite a few, (probably about 14 or 15 ). Ones like Lavender Hill. Bute Road, (Midland). Kingsley. Whittaker Street. Trewen, (originally part of Pencarne Junction) North Road. Willsbridge. Bristol Victoria. Kingsford (North Yard). And Cadley Hill, plus many more not photographed. Some had got to the Ballasting stage, but never jelled, others just provided an income for Peco, and the Timber Merchant and an excuse for ANOTHER Tip run. And all the above ones since moving here in May 2014 and also having my Stroke and a Heart Attack to contend with as well. Everything is well and truly boxed ready for Thursday, and the Layout has been Bubble wrapped since mid March, and the frame work was dismantled at the same time. 9
