Love the Vids Andy, some great exposure for the Ace 2 Dcc control unit.  I think the flexibility to swap locos and generally manage things is excellent with it I'm well chuffed and dieseled with mine.

I've been test running my Fowler and class 20 and altering the various functions and naming them what great fun.

?QUESTION?  Andy do you know if it is possible to assign a different Function number to the 5 buttons on the handset eg can I make handset button 1 think it is actually function 6?  I know I can take control back from the handset onto the panel and have all the 28 function keys available but to be able to change what the handset 5 buttons can select would be good.

Anyway some great modelling happening here Andy.

Best

Morning Barnaby, I'm afraid not a clue about changing button functions, best to have a word with ACE.

Sorry mate.

I suspect that reassigning buttons is something done at decoder level. So you can have different decoder reacting differently to the same Funnction no.  So you could change all the decoders ( ok if you only have a small fleet) . Still worth discussing it with Ace as you couldn't change visiting locos so easily.

Yes Gents I think you are right I need to fire off an email to Ace.

You never know my dream of just tag F9 on the main panel and say go to Handset button 1 might be allowed.   Don I probably be too much of a scare-dy cat to start messing with the decoder settings.

Thanks

I did gleam some new inspiration from this lovely O Gauge Layout based on a South London location / Hither Green area at the Stafford Show yesterday, as well as the Locos you see on the Layout, there must have been over 18 or so on the table behind. All had Sound and some had smoke as well. the Layout is only 19ft x 2.5ft and so with a little trimming of the Allotment I could fit this into TOPS, haha. I wouldn't like to be the one carrying the Box of Locos out to the Car, :o Unfortunately my photo of the ARC Class 59 didn't come out.

With the 47 away currently stabled in Hazel Grove Shed awaiting movement to North Wales, and the 25/3 currently sitting in North Wales waiting to be moved to Seven Mills via Hazel Grove, the question is,

COULD I?    :biggrin_mini2:  :D  :o

Nice line up Andy!  Been progressing my coach project the past couple of days, but starting to look forward to getting on with the Depot track so I can replicate such scenes myself :)

Presume you've still work to do on the Lima 33?  Your aware I presume that Heljan are doing another 33 run this year?  Im still being tempted by the Deltic rerun ... despite the faults - but in my mind im hoping Accurascale might just upgrade their OO gauge one, the CADs of which look amazing!

Not started on the 33 yet Rich, but I do have all the bits now. The Sound is fitted but a Jintyman Speaker will replace the current Bass Reflex job, and I have the Cab interiors, Flush Glazing, Buffer detailing including Oleo's and new Bogie Side Frames.

I might make a start next week, I have done one before but not with Sound, cab interior or buffers.

I will be having a Blue Heljan 33 when it comes out I hope. :D

It was good to catch up with you on Saturday at the Stafford show Andy. I almost didn't though as it was a lot harder to find a grey haired man in the crowd than I thought it would be ;)

Explaining to my daughter who you were brought up an interesting conversation...

Me: "One thing Andy is very good at is making trains look dirty."

Daughter: "Why does he do that?"

Me: "Because in real life trains are dirty and the models from the shop are clean so he makes them look like real life."

Daughter: "Why do I need to clean my room then if it's not real life?"

I changed the subject to sound...

So a little work on some new purchases from the Stafford Show last Saturday.

Worked on the Skytrex Station Shelter, and the Invertrains Signal Cabin. It's supposed to be on a Brick Base, but the Steps and rails supplied are not big enough, so it's going as Platform mounted.

Both started off clean and as new, but are now heavily weathered as the Station hasn't been used for Passenger Trains for many years, but the Box is still used two days a week for the Scrap Yard working.IMG_6643.JPG.3c54620e4e754f20aa05b9ebb02c1fcf.JPG

Looking good Andy.

But might I suggest the cabin would benefit from being raised on 2 or 3 rows of bricks.

So its not sat, rotting, on the platform surface.

Hi Tony, I agree, and as I said, it came with a Brick Base, but was to high, (about an inch),  and so I might take a saw to the Resin Base when next in TOPS, and see how it looks.

Cheers.

Do it outside on the workmate, Andy. Resin dust is not good for you.

A very busy morning sorting out some of Mums stuff for the Charity Shop etc and doing Tip Runs.

Once home and after a coffee I had an hour in TOPS, and re cut the Brick Base for the Signal Cabin, (Cheers Tony / Mulbagill) for the prompt.
