shortliner
I'm not sure how to ask this without offending someone, which is most definitely not my intention. Basically, I'm trying to paint some switchmen for my US locos/stock/layouts and I would very much like to paint at least one of the crew as being of Afro-Caribbean origin. Can anyone advise which acrylic paint shade would be suitable in the Vallejo, or Tamiya ranges for an appropriate skin-tone? - any help would be appreciated Thanks Jack

Trains4U
I don't think you should be worried about offending anyone for trying to work out colours for varying skin tones! AMMO by Mig do a set - these are made by the same guy who developed Vallejo I don't sell the sets, but I do have the individual paints available http://www.trains4u.com/c/553/Ammo-Paints

I have this one and another but can't remember the make to find the boxes in the loft. Two that I am looking at selling on.

Gene
Jack...I would just use a generic brown from either company and lighten or darken it as required by mixing some black or white into it. There are so many variation in colour that exactitude is not an issue.
