Romiley Methodist Railway Modellers - Romiley Model Railway Exhibition

Yes, its free admission, although a donation towards Action for Children would be appreciated.

Sat 8th September 2018 at Romiley Methodist Church, 77 Stockport Road, Romiley, Stockport, Greater Manchester SK6 3AA. Open 1030 to 1630.

This event is aimed primarily at families, but everyone is welcome. As well as the normal ‘don’t touch’ layouts, there will be several hands-on/drive-it-yourself layouts for the young at heart of all ages.

Kindly leave the on-site car park spaces for those with limited mobility. Romiley Station (limited service due to industrial action) and bus stops are only 400 metres from the church.

Hope to see you there.

Hetic day at the exhibition. The weather outside was awful which brought in lots of visitors, despite the downpour the miniature railway outside kept running and had lots of passengers. What makes the show different to most is that one hall is full of layouts where children are encouraged to drive the trains, that hall was packed all day. Hopefully some of the youngsters attending will become railway modellers of the future. I was in the ‘serious’ hall and that was busy too, including again a high proportion of youngsters.

The exhibition is free to enter, but visitors are encouraged to give a donation to Action for Children. The money hasn’t been counted yet, but it clearly has been a successfull day.
