There are also photos of it after he has painted it. It’s on some of the modern image o gauge Facebook groups, and on Heljans Facebook feed Edited February 22, 2019 by 47606odin
RMweb Premium Hal Nail Posted February 22, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 22, 2019 Interesting. Looks like a rework of the old one rather than completely new - plenty of similarities for example the pipes incorporated in the tank sides. Hard to tell from the angle but the cab windows don’t look radically altered. Then again not that surprising as the old one worked up pretty well. Tanks are narrower, bogie pipes are seperate pieces, as well as fitting the ones that were missing. i am glad it’s not changed that much as I don’t want 050 standing out like a sore thumb when paired with another after all the work I have put in it

Yes you can, but remember a diode needs a minimum voltage to work, so don’t go too big in value or they won’t illuminate
47606odin
Why do people highlight errors? this being the black around the side windows. It needs to be deeper, so I need to correct it, as I have ‘self imposed OCD’, meaning now I know it, it will bug me, because I know it’s there. The downside to this means I now have to redo the upper grey band as it matches the black below the window frame. All this is less than 1mm. More masking tape on order Good job it’s not a Heljan 37, as that would really blow my mind
47606odin
Correcting the black around the window frame A bit of masking, measured with vernier calipers to ensure the height is right the difference is not much in thickness, but visually quite different the difference end to end both done

47606odin
Going together nicely. This is an hours work, with drying time for the glue between operations. The photo I am working from, appears to not have the baskets underneath, and I have to fabricate clasp Vacuum brakes, but I am struggling to find details of the brakes
47606odin
Scratch building vacuum brake gear is fun. Grampus brakes are a bit unique, and they won’t be 100% accurate, but will be a good representation Cylinder side levers done, Vacuum cylinder next on this side this side is easier, not so much on it
47606odin
I am happy how this little project is progressing and a view underneath, and tomorrow’s little job will be fitting the slack adjuster bar in the centre to the first lever, with brackets, and then it’ll be looking at the block hangers and tie bars
