CRAP! Sh#t F&ck

Went to blow in the blue paint, but my Railmatch rail blue enamel has gone off in the jar…..the lid was cracked, so this job is now shelved until further notice as I can’t get any more

Can you get a match locally?  Once weathered any slight change in shade would not be noticeable

i beg to differ. I liked them with 3 lights

Either way it's an interesting mod. I've seen a few people do it by adding lights after smoothing it all off which I suppose is easier for the sanding but then hard to do the lights themselves convincingly.

I have some different filler coming, hopefully it’ll make it easie easier than the current stuff which keeps recessing when I sand it

Heljan have included the air, vacuum and steam hoses I think?

Edit: in looking for my old photo I remembered some marker light conversions on page 8 here:

there are several different methods, but I don’t think there’s been enough conversions done yet to find the best and easiest

I backdated mine to original blue star using spares from a Heljan 40. Heljan have just done eth parts for their 31/4 but getting hold of anything since Gaugemaster took over from Howes is quite another matter unfortunately.

all the conversions like this one are 45/0’s I’ve the added fun of fitting ETH

Agree. Would like to know what exactly parts were used here and want a 45/1 myself.
Maybe Heljan will surprise us by upscaling their OO gauge model???? Not holding my breath though :nono:

I hope not now I’m going through all this work. I’m having fun though which is the point
