I must say Ian your background application is very effective.

I'm not sure who's Backscenes you are using but they look similar to what I am going to use. They are from a company in Telford Shropshire and most model shops stock them.
Here's his link:>>> https://www.art-printers.com/ the owner is very helpful and can do custom scenes in size and content.

Looking very good.

Best

Steve Smith of Railway Laser Lines has been commissioned to produce a one off kit for me to make the guards office (I think that’s what it was)

it is dimensionally slightly squashed from the original building, down to space constraints on the layout, but gives a great representation of the long bulldozed original

The following photos are the test cuts to see how it goes together, and looks pretty good

hopefully the finalised article will get cut next week

For a test print the Guards Office looks like the finished article!

The class 33 sound is superb and reminds of me of times spent standing on the platform at Eastleigh railway station waiting for a REP and TC’s or a VEP service. Whose sound is it?

The layout is looking really good now the track is weathered and the back scene in place.

Looking forward to the next instalment!

The sound in the 33 is Legomanbiffo

Well, here’s an update. The following photos are what Steve Smith of Railway Laser Lines has achieved with the prototype cut of my commission, which is still currently on its way down under.

however, unfortunately for me, I have to match or exceed his results. Challenge accepted

It’s in the detail.

I am adding the fence of the compound to create a bit of added interest between the track and the backscene, there were another 2 tracks before it at Hither Green, but I just feel a need of something to break up the line at the rear of the depot.

I could have used the mesh in the kit, but even in O gauge it is way too course, so a quick visit to the local fabric shop, and a nice fine mesh was purchased for $1.40. Much better don’t you think?

That looks spot on Ian, I'd love to know how he's done the roof felt and pointing on the walls.

The mortar is polyfilla fine.

Steve did post in one of the o gauge groups what the stuff on the roof was, it is a modelling product but can’t remember the manufacturer

I did see it on one of the FB groups, I'll have to have a route round later on.
