It’s called bird port I believe, used to use a shark , but now appears TNT 66s

It's an unusual set-up, as the unloading shed is actually built across the running line to Uskmouth (Fifoot's Point) power station.

Here's a link to a photo of the site:- https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Newport/@51.5618643,-2.9679121,567m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x4871e0db3b2711a9:0x2ab35deccec89c5c!8m2!3d51.581186!4d-3.0305937?hl=en

The whole branch would make a nice model of a 'short-line' in the North American style, as it had several different industries with private sidings into recent times.

Evening..

Thanks for the info on the docks, I do like the idea of a layout like that, maybe I'll do an exhibition one, one day.

In the mean time, here's a quick couple of pictures of the latest loco to arrive. After a little bit of confusion over the delivery arrangements it arrived at the works late this morning. Transferred from Scunthorpe and still bearing the name on the cab.

The Engineers attempted to run it but unfortunately the chip was too big. So any advice on the best decoder for it will be appreciated.

Here is the loco shunting some internal wagons.

If time allows, I'll post another update about Redbrook sidings later.

And when the holy grail of a complete layout happened, it happened fast! I’m going to do a recce trip of tempting O gauge and then we are going for a walk at Warley to inspire that wagon works we keep talking about ;)

Far far too modern setting for me, (as Mr NewBryford will confirm), but looking really good, stock and layout nicely done.

Industrial earthiness does it for me.

Also Redbrook Sidings as an Inglenook, inspired thinking.

Mike.

Thanks Mike, the idea was to have several small sections to satisfy my constant changing ideas. Each one should keep me occupied in theory.. That is until the O gauge layout build starts, that PaulRhb has made mention of..

I've had a tidy up in the garage and there's definitely room for an O gauge plank!

Anyway, back to the real world, I thought I'd post some pictures to give an idea as to how it all goes together..

I still have room to add another board which would be the proper fiddle yard.

In other news, 56059 has arrived in the reception siding with the early morning empties from Leaford distribution centre.

And the new shunter, nicknamed "Mambo" prepares a single SPA, which the 56 will take to Redbrook sidings for attachment to the 16:45 enterprise working to Eastleigh yard.

Hi.

Not much of an update as I've been working all weekend, but I have managed to hide the exit from the sidings. I know it's not very imaginative but it's the only thing I could think of with the limited space.

I just need to add a few more scenic details and start looking for some people to populate the layout.
