Looking good Steve,

That will be a Mecca for photographers and grocers - no need for a shed pass either!

Rich

Steve,

Apologies - never type quick on a tablet ... while the bridge may become a Mecca for grocers ... I really did mean to put gricers!   Ah, just found the problem, auto spell check doesn't like gricers!  If it was a certain Yorkshire grocer, it wwwwwould have have charged me for the privilege :)

I’ve had to revise the track plan a little, the first point will lead to a short siding as I don’t have the room to curve the track enough to access the back road it will be too tight for most of my big steam locos,

Slaters brick sheets arrived and cut to size, The mammoth job of painting will begin but not today far to much rain post-5983-0-66180000-1539339709_thumb.jpeg

I won’t worry about joining each sheet neatly as I will get some buttresses made up just like the one circled here on the lower part of my signal box, just full height, I’ll paint these in engineers blue to have a nice contrast against the red brick.

Timber tracks Parcel office / bike shed arrived today, Bike shed and stores on this layout! I’ve built it up and it’s now in the base brick colour, this will harden off on the radiator this evening.

The retaining wall sheets now have all 3 shades picked out. Mortar next

After measuring up my room and seeing what useable space I have I’ve taken the decision to extend the layout, well extension is the wrong word as this section will be on the opposite side of the room!

This will be the back end of the shed. The same design low relief 4 road engine shed but with only three roads coming out the forth will be blocked off with some additional offices,

A road from the rear will go straight on to the coaling stage ( hopefully one of Intentio’s Southall designs )

The next road will lead on to a turntable, this will have to be a 70’ deck as I do intend on adding a Princess and Duchess to my collection. They would have been to big for the GW 65’ deck.

I’ll base this on the back end of Canton and will be more over grown and unkept than the front of the shed.

Only one point needed so track work will be fairly simple.

I have about 11’ to play with.

I can store individual sections of the Riviera line underneath whilst still leaving plenty of room in the centre of the room for stools and standing room for visitors.

I’ll get some timber together over the next few weeks for the main boards. post-5983-0-72773800-1539958296_thumb.jpeg

Work has ground to a halt as I’ve run out of Matt black!! The roof is now on the lamp stores and the rest of the slaters brick sheets are glued in place.

8763 is on the shed pilot road, Falcon comes on shed after working a morning service from Bristol

Hi Steve,

I see you have placed " Lightning " on what looks like a possible turntable site, so have you kept your original t/table ?

Have you received your order from C&L yet ?

Martyn.

Hi Martin

Yes Lightning is sat on the turn table, I did sell my GW table From Ranelagh Bridge. I would like in time a Princess and a Duchess and they would have been too big for the GW deck, I’m looking at the Greenwood 70’ laser cut table like Andy Jack has on his St David’s layout.

This is a similar design to the one that was at canton.

Still no delivery from C&L tomorrow will be 3 weeks for a box of track he has in stock!

Still waiting on a delivery from C&L !!

Going through the recovered components from Ranelagh Bridge I can use one of the turnout parts on the back of the shed side.

I may just order some laser cut sleepers as I have a full pack of rail plus chairs here! It probably would have been quicker to hand build the whole lot at this rate!
