We have released another batch of figures, this time featuring some more non-railway personnel. The latest releases include some great Policeman, shopkeepers or stores keepers and a couple of new animal packs featuring cats and dogs. They were a bit rushed and require more work on the hair and faces. I had been looking for long coats for some time. I would highly recommend these figures. I've got to say, the detail and finish quality are absolutely staggering, they are amazingly good! Highly recommended. wamwig Posted May 30, 2019 Share Posted May 30, 2019 Ordered some of the latest Hardy's figures at the weekend (taking advantage of the 10% discount), had them custom printed at 1/72 rather than 1/76 and they arrived yesterday (Wednesday), terrific service and great figures, thanks Andy and Steve. We released loads of new figures. However we have also been working with TS Designs to produce our first locomotive body kit: This semi-freelance Hudswell Clarke will be available as a complete body kit (including body, handrail knobs and wire, smokebox dart, fixing bolts and footplate crew). This kit fits on the Electrotren/Jouef chassis. Price will be £45 for the complete body kit and we hope they will be ready for sale by the end of August. Edwardian Posted September 11, 2019 Share Posted September 11, 2019 Always cheers me to see fresh evidence of the vibrancy and creativity of our cottage industries. You never know what will pop into existence next. I must say, this looks a great range of figures; some of the most successful 3D-print figures I've seen. Though most are too modern for me, they will suit most modellers, and I can certainly find a place in my heart and my modelling for IKB and the dogs! I hope the range will continue to go from strength to strength and, indeed, diversify, given all the possibilities of 3D-print, many far from fully exploited as yet. Particular congratulations to Hardy's and TS Design on the loco body kit. It really cuts a dash and I hope is the first of many. RMWebbers can do some amazing things when they come together, and you can never have too many 'small industrials'. We are extremely pleased announce that in conjunction with TS Design we have now released a range of body kits! Currently two version of the semi-freelance Hudswell are available which will shortly be joined by a Hudswell Clarke 1800 class all of which fit on the Electrotren/Jouef chassis. We are working through some other designs that will fit on other chassis. If anyone has any ideas we would love to hear from you! TurboSnail Posted October 25, 2019 Share Posted October 25, 2019 I've had my sample prints of the Hudswell Clarke PLA/1800 class come in, so I thought I'd show what comes in a kit (small disclaimer - I was involved in the design, so I'm not entirely unbiased!). Firstly, the main body - I think this comes with the support material removed (at least, mine did), with just a couple of minor areas to clean up. Then there's the roof, with support material still attached so it doesn't warp in transit. A 'sprue' with all the detail bits is included, with sandboxes, driver figures, springs, valves, filler caps etc. (plus extras depending on what loco is in the kit). With production kits, you also get all the handrail knobs, wire, smokebox dart, mounting hardware, cosmetic coupling hooks and any other bits you need to finish the loco, so all you need to add is the donor RTR chassis, paint and glue. The cost for most of the kits in the range is £45, which I think is pretty reasonable compared to the cost of similar resin bodykits available - plus you get all the detail parts included. Add an Electrotren chassis if you don't already have one (and if not, why not?!) for about £50 and you have a loco with a comparable cost to an equivalent RTR loco - with the difference that you get to say you built this yourself and have a prototype that most RTR manufacturers wouldn't consider making! Apologies if I sound like a salesman - I'm genuinely very pleased with how this has turned out! These kits aren't the last word in super-detail (although there are plenty of rivets to count if that's your bag), but that's not the point - it's designed to be a cost-effective and simple to construct kit. I did have a couple of chuckles though; they say they scan real people, so how did they scan IK Brunel? I thought he died a few years ago. Plus there is a ‘0044 lady stood on mobile phone’, I expected her foot to be squashing her phone, but no, the phone is in her hand! Whilst laid up with the lurgi I ordered an assortment of figures on Thursday morning. They arrived Saturday, very well packaged and are very nice to boot. One very impressed customer here, I’ll be ordering more. We have been busy beavering away with lots of new projects. Two loco kits - a Fox Walker saddle tank and a Pre-war Sentinel have been released. The former fits on the Electrotren 0-6-0 chassis while the Sentinel fits on the Hornby 48DS chassis. Soon to be released is an 0-4-0 Manning Wardle H class to fit on a Hornby W4 chassis. Keep an eye out for its release later this month. We also now offer three themed packs of people in 4mm and 7mm scales covering Station Platforms, Footplate, and Shed Scenes. Each of these packs contain eight figures and offer a saving of 25% against buying the figures individually.
