jonhall
Its funny - I was looking at photos of the landquart turntable only yesterday - acording to the website of the firm that renewed it, there is a straight track, and one that is 10° divergent - how does that work? I can't say I noticed it when I did the tour? How are you going to do the OHLE spider? Jon

I can't say I noticed it when I did the tour? I’m not sure, you can see it on google maps / Earth and in pictures since the rebuild. You can see it here on the turntable deck. https://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=630907 2 minutes ago, jonhall said: How are you going to do the OHLE spider? imagination! One of the guys on the RhB forum says it was done as the Allegra’s came in so that they could access both roads in the long shed on the end of the roundhouse without being split. It’s got a curve to it to directly join the entry to the second road in that shed. The straight track gives access to the first road straight over.
David Bell
I follow all of your threads with interest. I dont know how you find it but working in different scales at the same time takes some getting used to. I work in HO /OO, O, Om and gauge 1. Your scale eye, if I can call it that, moves from one scale to the other.(somehow) So what works in one scale does not in another. It is all good, and all a challenge. And all very rewarding Keep up the good work. Cheers David
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 26, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 26, 2020 I quite like the challenge of changing scale as each has its advantages.

Full details here translation: RhB invests 12 million Swiss francs in Landquart In order to be able to maintain the 50-metre-long Allegra trains, the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) in Landquart has built a new maintenance facility. The cost is just under 12 million Swiss francs. Chur/Landquart. – The Rhaetian Railway (RhB) in Landquart has invested almost 12 million Swiss francs for the new maintenance facility for the Allegra trains. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new building took place in June, and the erecting ceremony on 20 May. Today the hall has been shown to the Medein. In Landquart, the existing turntable had to be supplemented with an arched track before construction began. This serves as an access road for the extension of the existing maintenance system and the underfloor wheel lathe system, which has also been upgraded for the maintenance of the multiple units. As part of occupational safety, a roof walkway was built in the parallel commuter train hall.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 27, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 27, 2020 More faffing around with mock-ups I had to stretch the front a bit to allow pantographs through in a slightly higher position than the real thing or I had visions of regularly ripping off the pantographs!
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 27, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 27, 2020 Decorative surround in place and all 15 tracks glued and pinned in place. Wiring next
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 28, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 28, 2020 Trackwork complete, still waiting for the switches but I can start adding droppers to the rails. The siding at the front is really cosmetic just to look busier like the real shed. It might prove handy in operation too as somewhere to drop extra coaches like the Gourmino.

jonhall
Nice - does the Kit include 'indexing' of the table, or do you have to drive it to position? Thanks J

No indexing but it’s pretty easy to line up running on a AA battery. I’m going to use a sprung centre off switch so if it does overrun I can just tap it back the other way. In that clip I was sat to the side and managed to line it up accurately both times although it’s much easier from a standing viewpoint.

RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 31, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 31, 2020 (edited) Taken the opportunity to sort out the programming on the dcc equipped fleet. Decided putting a mark underneath so I know which is Forward too so there’s some chance they all end up the same way round. Ah but the turntable you say! I think if this goes out as a modular layout one day I’ll block the reverse polarity end of the table with a pin so they stay the same way round and a cheeky extra Edited May 31, 2020 by PaulRhB Subterfuge ;)
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted June 8, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 8, 2020 Another stalled project surfaced when finding bits for the turntable module. These Tm2/2’s are the second version of the Shapeways model I’ve seen and I found the Tsugawa TMC100 fitted almost perfectly with the motor under the bonnet and room for a Zimo mx616f decoder on the cab floor. There’s an alternative just been released that Supaned spotted too https://www.rhbmodellbahn.com/product-page/rhb-tm-2-2-115-117-118-119 1
RMweb Premium JimFin Posted June 8, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 8, 2020 I think I prefer the Shapeways. version. I do need to explore resin printing but apparently the Elegoo Saturn 1st production run sold out in 3 minutes when released on 6th June! Need to wait until they have debugged it anyway. Later in the year I think - after I have paid for the Bemo Maloja.
