Mark1909
The SNCF had 35 Sulzer engined diesel locomotives numbered 65501 - 65535. After withdrawal a number of these were kept back for working ballast trains on TGV high speed lines. In the late 1990s and early 2000s I photgraphed a number of these on Avignon depot and Miramas stabling point. By now they were stored as work had come to the end. I've attached a photo of mine, CC 65517 sat on Miramas 2.9.2005 Does anybody know where they are now or what became of them ? Many thanks, Mark Jones

RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted November 6, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 6, 2018 (edited) A lot of photos here, both model and proto of them in more recent private liveries https://www.google.com/search?q=cc+65500+drouard&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiI9cie_7_eAhUDC8AKHcVMAxsQsAR6BAgAEAE&biw=1366&bih=632 I'm not convinced that sky blue suits them. There is one being restored at Oignies, near Lens
Mark1909
Thank you everybody for your help in finding out what happened to the "Dakotas" Below is info from a website, however Bernard Pourrieres website shows photos of one numbered "CC65500 no. 0736" recently painted in yellow. If this is refurbished 65522 or one of the others that was at Avignon/Miramas remains to be seen. The information I have posted below concerns the locos that were sold early on, i have no information regarding the locos that survived with SNCF into the 2000s.
