RMweb Premium newbryford Posted December 1, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 1, 2018 (edited) I've only seen full sets of the DB MMA wagons, but have seen mixes of the GBRF Blue and grey JNA-Ts (Don't know if they were the plain Ermewa or Ermewa/Tarmac though.) https://www.flickr.com/photos/billatkinson2/44032418740/in/photolist-2a5ZE2s-hTJ6hj-pD6EDs-sc6Rrw-efWAML-mEpXnn-GznTbL-eg1KDi-jAvQm9-Fp2Kxr-hurAdj-rx8yYL-dWGqt6-jAvRVS-sLYgLk-Gb91fs-d7DqEC-eijWGZ-dxVprt-26ujR5u-dg3xq2-oePpTD-rMpjTw-ehFTbN-9sahPz-GHAx6G-d7DASC-YuvE5s-eijNRF-f7wo2G-eiqyuW-d7DuX3-eiqzUs-d7DtUb-eiqEu5-d7DsPu-nQT4JM-eXmdJp-d7DzQy-husb7u-VhAeJm-bWJyzC-RNDmmy-eib6kb-RQLQey-H38om7-bFPF1x-dLmZMW-dLy3mz-bsUZBm And it doesn't need to be GBRf locos on the GBRf wagons..... RMweb Premium Scottish-Exile Posted December 1, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 1, 2018 Yup, I believe DB have only ever been in fixed rakes. Yes, good for the wallet, based on the KMRC price - just need Revolution to do the HOA in Mendip Rail themselves...... Otherwise could they also go behind the Dapol Yeoman wagons? I know - but I photographed the actual train on the date quoted hence the comment - I have photos of it and each wagon in the working. MMA/JNA info for the Brecklands line : Brandon, 2-3 times per week (20), Norwich, seasonal (19) and Eccles Road, averages about once every 2 weeks (16) are now solid MMA (typical length in brackets) - loaded with stone. Recently several of the Norwich workings have returned to Small Heath loaded with sand rather than empty to the Peak. Mountsorrel - Trowse is mostly HOA but can also be blue or grey JNA - all return empty.

So Mendip hoppers mixed with one of the other liveries, definitely. Mendip boxes in a mix of all types. Definitely.Multi portion train, part hopper, part boxes (splitting to serve different destinations). Definitely Jo

Hi beast66606, Thanks for the update - it's likely that the Norwich train was mistaken for the Eccles Road train - especially if it was recorded at, say, Whittlesea (one of my favourite locations) among others that day. I guess it is inevitable that there will be some errors! From a modellers' point of view, the chart is meant to give "the average enthusiast" (with apologies to Railway Modeller) a reasonable idea of where a wagon runs, what it's loaded with, what locos might pull it how many there might be and what other wagons might be in the rake. Unless their layout depicts a very specific location and time, I anticipate that a lot of modellers (me included, albeit in N) will choose trains they like the look of and probably downscale them for reasons of space and/or cost. I often go for about 1/2-2/3 so a 19-wagon train would be depicted with 10-13 wagons. Cheers Ben A. Edited December 2, 2018 by Ben A

Grizz
This was the Newhaven (Day Aggregates) to Acton T.C. working, 732B, running right time, passing Hamsey AHBC on the up. 59004 on the head end today and mix of wagons in this consist is varied to say the least. I look forward to being able to model this train using some of the wagons from RevolutioN if possible. As previously mentioned the GBRF working to Newhaven produces much more uniform consists, normally plain grey ERMEWA rakes and the DB workings on dark blue JNA VGA rakes, with no other wagon types included.
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted December 3, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 3, 2018 A new MMA at Peak Forest in 2017 And a few months later. Pretty certain that the red paint only extends inside the wagon at the whim of the spray painter..... and that it's not worn off with use. (What's the sense in painting the inside anyway?) Cheers, Mick
Steadfast
Most wagons are like that, just a bit of overspray on the inside. Little aside, the MXA Lobsters seem to vary though, some have a hard line near the top lip, others it's a soft overspray edge Jo

Cheers, Mick I mentioned this to the chap on the stand at Warley but he seemed most insistant that the whole wagon inside was painted red from new.. hmmm errr no... I've got identical photos to you Mick may even be same pair of wagons where you can clearly see it is just overspray onto bare maybe primed metal.Cheers Paul
RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted December 3, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 3, 2018 Hello Paul, I am not sure who you spoke to but it wasn't me! To be fair, Warley is incredibly busy and our fantastic helpers on the stand can't be expected to know every detail of each product. I am sorry if you were given erroneous information. The livery artwork has been specified as shown here. The interior below the lip will be a dirty brown that is the closest match we could find to the prototype.. The model at Warley was a hand-painted EP sample, and as has been discussed earlier in the thread was not the finished production model Cheers Ben A.
Grizz
Today the GBRF Newhaven to Tonbridge working, 626Q, produced 66710 (very clean) with a uniform rake of 18 x ERMEWA GREY JNAs. Anyone got any idea where it goes to after Tonbridge? Or where it comes from prior to leaving Tonbrdge for Newhaven? Sorry photos were a bit dodgy, at this time of the year the sun is always too low and on the wrong side for decent up working photos. Over cast is much better.....good job it is going to p down tomorrow.
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted December 5, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 5, 2018 Yesterday DBC used some more JNAs, this time in the grey body colour and using a fairly recently out of the box 66 (April repaint) to power them. 04 December 2018 Eccles Road 66131 on 6L47, 08:18, Mountsorrel Sdgs - Trowse Yard Redland Siding (12:56) - loaded stone (20 grey JNA) One with a big tag - graffiti, several with smaller stuff 81 70 5500 015-9 81 70 5500 043-1 And the strangely numbered (numbering used to start at 1) 81 70 5500 000-1 As normal I photographed the complete train so when the production day comes I've got lots of photos of complete trains should anyone want to see any inspiration, I can't get side on shots I'm afraid as the trains pass me at around 50mph.
RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted December 5, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 5, 2018 Hi Das, Thanks for posting those shots. Were any of the wagons badged with the Ermewa logo only, or did they all have the Tarmac blue circle branding at the right hand end? Cheers Ben A. The product is Incinerator Bottom Ash, and Days Aggregates apparently have a specialist depot at Brentford to handle it. Not sure if it is used as an aggregate for concrete, or simply as an inert fill.

Not sure if it is used as an aggregate for concrete, or simply as an inert fill. Hi Brian, thanks for the gen. That might explain why in the summer, on hot breezy days, the train seems to have a slight haze around it and following it, when viewed from a distance! Just a thought...I have never seen the Blue Circle logo on any of the wagons on the Newhaven workings, just the uniform Grey JNAs rakes with the red ERMEWA logo. The dark blue VTG JNAs, that turn up in on the Newhaven run from time to time, also work to Crawley new yard. These never seem to have any other wagon type or other livery mixed in. Not sure how many of these wagons exist or why they are never mixed in with others. ....Small fleet??dedicated flows???
sdw7300
A few more details about these in RevolutioN's newsletter today. For those ordered / ordering direct with RevolutioN, they have now added wagon "L" (in addition to A, B, C & D) to each livery option. "L" is the tail light fitted option.
