This is a Lokpilot micro 6-pin decoder and fits straight in. Between 50% and 100% more than a Bachmann chip but I prefer them. Aside from all else I had one in stock, removed from an OO loco that I'd had sound fitted. It can just be seen in the cab if you look hard enough but is less visible than the board it has replaced. Now running in on the test oval with no issues. About 30 mins and it is now smooth down to a slow jog.... Les Interesting to note Les that yours appears to be missing the cover for the gear tower shown in the instructions, but absent on mine also. TMViews
Arrived yesterday. Stuttered at first during running-in. Now running smoothly. Amazingly quiet! Now for the decoder installation. To avoid any damage, precisely how do I "unclip" the pony truck?

TMViews
Thanks Roy, Given the small sizes involved, I'm always wary about using too much force. Best regards, John
Les1952
I levered the pony truck off using a cocktail stick - it avoids applying too much force as the cocktail stick breaks first. Why lever? have you ever tried using a pair of cocktail sticks as pliers?...... Les

Because the trailing truck is sprung it is pretty sure-footed, just a very occasional issue, but to be fair my old test track has been around a while and isn't treated with much love, one of the points has a bit of a "bump" in the frog area. As it was not necessary operationally it was not fitted, so none have them! cheers Ben A.
Sithlord75
Seems Rails has theirs heading out sooner than Revolution. I don't mind not being first to get one (after all it has to come back out towards where it started from!) but given Rails came late to the party it's a bit annoying to find those of us who stumped up first may not be first to get one shipped. I checked my account status and I paid in full when I ordered just under 2 years ago. Edited August 2, 2021 by Sithlord75 removed a question which had been answered already! I think that’s rather unfair. Rails of Sheffield is a large operation whose business is making money by selling models. Revolution Trains is two blokes doing it in their spare time. Isn’t it to be expected that the former will be able to despatch a large number of packages quicker than the latter? Sithlord75
Didn't know it was so unfair I had to be told twice. Either way, it is merely a point of view. Why support the little guy if the Big Guy throws their money around and gets to jump the queue? Might as well a) not support the little guy and b) hope the Big Guy does produce what you want. I've been more than willing to back Revolution where I can justify it (most of their stuff, whilst nice, is far too modern for me) and shall continue to do so (Class 128 also on order - trying to work out how many Cartic 4s). As I said, I don't expect mine shall show up quickly, being as it has to go from China, to the UK then back out to Australia, but it would appear had I gone with the Big Guy it would already be on its way. I don't even have a balance to pay.

It's because Revolution are a two man operation and don't have their own dispatch unit set up and ready to ship hundreds of items per day as Rails do. They are sending them out, they began last week, it will just be slower. Sonic got into the UK care of Revolution who introduced Sam to the N gauge community, without that introduction he might not have gotten the attention of Rails and now be able to market his second model.
RMweb Gold Popular Post Revolution Mike Posted August 2, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 2, 2021 (edited) I’ve no idea whether all the orders from Rails have gone out or how many they had to ship but we had a lot! The Sonic models are slightly different to our normal way of working but the fundamental reason I guess people came to us is that they got their models considerably cheaper. Rails have taken a considerable risk supporting Sonic so why shouldn’t they also get their models to send them out to recoup some of the not inconsiderable sum they’ve paid? For our models, there’s another benefit/reason to coming direct which is that ultimately if people don’t then the models just won’t get produced. Having said which if it is important to people that they get their models first then 2 people are always going to struggle to pack hundreds of models as quickly as one of the large retailers. PS it hasn’t helped having two models arrive at the same time with our Ecofrets arriving a day or two before the 56xx models. We’ve also had to invoice a fair amount of customers for their balances. None of which are complaints or whinges, but they are reasons why things take time. Edited August 2, 2021 by Revolution Mike 5 2 2
RMweb Gold Revolution Mike Posted August 2, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 2, 2021 (edited) Just to add a bit of context - the first 56xx models went out Wednesday evening. By this morning 50% of our orders had gone out (though some I still need to mark as despatched). By the end of today my best guess is that we will have packed 80% of the orders with much of the remaining amount of orders that we are either waiting for balance payments or they were the last orders we received. bmthtrains - David
This reminds me of when I had to deal with a customer complaint years ago that his book had arrived a day later than his friend’s copy of the same title. Insisting that I correct the error, it took me some time to explain the linear nature of time and that I lacked the temporal abilities to retrospectively make his book arrive yesterday. I do worry how the instant 24 hour on demand world we are chasing alters our enjoyment of things. Does it irrevocably spoil our pleasures if someone gets their treat a few hours or days before we do? Constant online posts of ‘here’s mine!’ certainly don’t help as it seems to make everyone else waiting impatient and frustrated. I suspect if all the ‘where’s mine?’ emails to Ben and Mike contained a £1 coin, they’d be busy buying expensive yachts by the end of the first week of a new model despatch… David 3 2 3

For what it's worth, mine turned up from RevolutioN yesterday. It's a lovely model although I almost wish I'd chosen a "prettier" livery than British Railways black with the early emblem.
RMweb Premium Steven B Posted August 3, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 3, 2021 There have been several Revolution models that have been sent out from shops before Ben and Mike finish sending out the directly ordered ones. HRH_Dan_Hull
I fitted mine with a 59827 Lokpilot 5 Micro this evening and discovered that the running is erratic, I applied the same CV changes as I did to the Bachmann Thomas & Percy which also are fitted with Lokpilot 5 micros and it solved the running issues. I've put the relevant CV settings in a handy Jpeg for anyone else who needs them, feel free to save and refer to when needed.
