David It would mean an expensive and complete remanufacture of the tools needed for what was essentially a 1 off that only carried 2 livery variations. David Hi David, As there was already a model of this out in the wild it would be very hard to justify doing another sales wise. Sadly one offs such as DP2 dont have as much mileage as production locos, and when one model is out there, the market is pretty much satisfied from a sales POV! David I can't understand the passion for DP-2; it seems a thoroughly charmless machine, like infusing an E-Type with the soul of a Vauxhall Viva. I'm always struck by how a different set of grilles ruined the aesthetics of the Deltic. Each to their own though and I wouldn't want to stand in the way of Accurascale taking money from folk of questionable judgement should they decide to. Opinions differ and none are more subjective than aesthetics. Mine is that the BR design panel took an attractive machine and transformed it into the unattractive flat-fronted 50 with even its roof line disfigured by a monstrous box. The better analogy would be infusing an E-type with the soul of the Humber Super Snipe. Big cheap reliable lump of an engine offering 70% of the power of the far more expensive sports model. At least one BR ops manager thought it ideal as the class 4 'second string' express machine, cheap, simple, rugged, reliable. BR engineering 'fixed' all of that with the production version, could probably see themselves redundant in short order had such a design gone unchanged into general service. 1 2 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Alternative suggestion, the Bachmann class 55 model is an ideal 'horse' for a rework into DP2, especially once outclassed by the Accurascale model. (Should be some availability s/h for those not already in possession...) For all its limitations, the Bach's basic body shell shape is right, the running gear performs well enough, established filling and detailing technique can replicate what EE did in clothing their 'type 4.5' with a modified Deltic bodyshell, and then a relatively simple paint scheme to finish. LOL I err... no not going there, you guys are trying to get me into trouble! lol. Since it's now on the previous page, here is a link to the Deltic progress report and a look at the standards we will do all our locomotives to (including the 92!). With three locomotives in this stage of development (two Accurascale, one IRM) two more being worked on (as yet unannounced!) and other rolling stock items being tooled and manufactured across both brands (again, some announced, some unannounced!) it's an extremely busy and expensive time for us as a non-crowdfunding manufacturer. Luckily we're well funded, and if this tranche of models sell well then it means we have money to really ramp up and expand the range.
