Heljan progress report - November 2018

It certainly hasn't been abandoned, just put on hold until the final sales of the present stock has been achieved. It was discussed briefly over the weekend at the Warley show along with the other lengthy queue of Heljan models in the progression line. The positive aspect of this is that most of the tooling is complete for the earlier version with just some 'tweeking' required to the GN cab and tender when the time comes.

That’s very good news. I’m pleased with the ones I’ve got but a better paint (or unpainted) finish would be welcome.

Weatheing turns them into exceptional models.

Oh crikey, not more... That would make the two dozen I reckon.... I need help for this Bo-Bo addiction.

Anyone modelling a Scottish shed needs at least 20...

14 on the scrap line, 2 dragging another failed pair on a freight with another pair banking it.

Plus a 24 to sort it all out,

Thanks, to date all their blue with full yellow end 27s had drop light cab Windows and a thin bead across the sealed door. My memories from the mid 80s were mostly of sliding Windows with no beading across the door. The Heljan version of drop Windows and beading was less common in the mid 80s. While the changing of the windows is relatively straightforward if you can source their 26 glazing, the removal of the beading is a pain and needs a repaint.
