JZ
Picked up a couple of Olivia's EM1 and EM2s at bargain prices with a view to building a layout depicting a short, though fictitious, section of the line. No suitable catenary seems to be available RTP, so thought are turning to scratch building some. Are there any etched components available to aid this? The light gantries could be made from brass section and for the heavier ones, there are a few laser-cut MDF ones on eBay. Not planning anything more than a 'watch-the-trains-go-by' layout, no pointwork or stations. Any photographic contributions of models welcome. gazzaday
JZ, you may wish to take a look at my Blog on this subject. Early Great Eastern used the same type of gantries as the Woodhead route. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1931/entry-18102-the-only-way-is-romford-part-3/ Also Clive Mortimore has drawn some OLE cross sections, which are available on RMWeb. Good luck, keep us posted with your progress. Regards,
