Stephens Railmotors and yes they are well up to the Lightmoor standard - will be spending the evening in to make what looks to be a very enjoyable read Thanks Guys
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted November 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 23, 2018 Looking forward to seeing the Railmotor book at the Warley show I would suggest a change in your username as it's never a good idea to disclose your email address. Tom F
Perhaps I'm biased modelling where I do, but 'The Bala Branch' is a worthy companion to Martin Williams previous book 'Ruabon to Barmouth'!
Steamport Southport
I'll keep an eye out for that next time I'm at Llangollen. I like to give heritage railways the sale and they'll probably have it. Jason
MarcD
A copy of the Railmotor book arrived this afternoon. It's my Dad's Christmas present so I'm having a sneaky read before rapping it up. Marc
RMweb Premium cornelius Posted November 28, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 28, 2018 Does the Bala book cover the Festiniog & Blaenau Railway as well?
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted December 26, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 26, 2018 Does the Bala book cover the Festiniog & Blaenau Railway as well? Yes, there is mention of it plus one or two photos and scale drawings of a loco and stock, in the first few pages. I had this book as a Christmas present and it is superb. RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 28, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 28, 2018 (edited) Santa delivered the Bala book and it is an excellent tome. My only criticism is the lack of signalbox diagrams (although there are track layout drawings of course) and some rather odd caption descriptions of some of the signals - several of which are very interesting. but that is no reason at all t be put off because overall it is a smashing book and well worth the money.
