bgman
It's always the small items that seem to take time Ade but very satisfying once they are ticked off the list. G 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post Adrian Stevenson Posted December 23, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 23, 2020 Been a hectic time this last few days doing Xmas stuff, as we have 11 Grandchildren! All presents delivered now, so today it was back to the layout before the Christmas celebrations. I have been busy and got a fair bit done since my last update on Friday: The starter signal is now wired up to the new signal lever and works a treat. All the static grass has been laid, being a mixture of 7mm to the flat areas and 12mm to the embankment. This is a mix of light green, dark green and straw with a dusting of earth powder. The Jinty crew have arrived along with the LMS pattern lamps and these have been painted up and fitted to the loco. The first coat of cream paint has also been applied to the branch set. Time now thank everyone for reading my thread and making comments and likes over the past year and to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and healthy New Year! Cheers from Ade, Lez and Patch the Cat. 25

RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted December 23, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 23, 2020 Thanks David. The Grandkids range in age from 1 year old to 18 years old. Four boys and seven girls. Due to lockdown only four of them have been over to see the layout and that was a flying visit one afternoon. So hopefully next year they will be able to come over and play trains with Grandad. Cheers, Ade. 4

RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted December 29, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 29, 2020 Now Christmas is out of the way, it was back to doing some modelling this afternoon. The foamboard formers for the rest of the embankment were made and glued in place. In the second photo you will see the extra bit of baseboard has been added (the triangular section of bare wood) so the baseboard will turn towards the cabin door. Not shown in the pics, I have also added the grass matting over the embankment ready for doing the static grass tomorrow. Cheers, Ade.

RMweb Gold Popular Post Adrian Stevenson Posted December 30, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 30, 2020 Today I did the static grass to the embankment. I also altered the profile of the embankment a bit to better match the prototype. Just a few more feet to do now. Still getting used to the new Iphone, so I took a lot of pictures of 6412 first running light and then with a goods train. Cheers, Ade.

RMweb Gold Popular Post Adrian Stevenson Posted December 31, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 31, 2020 Thanks Guys. The last bit of modelling done for 2020. Given the branch set a second coat of cream paint and also done the interior woodwork and floors to all three. I have also given the signal and point levers their first coat of paint. Very pleased with all that has been achieved with the layout this year. Lockdown certainly helped speed up the progress. The big project for next year will be completing baseboard four which will see the line disappear into the tunnel and onto the traverser and then going out into the garden! Best wishes for a Happy New Year and here's to a better 2021 for all! Cheers, Ade. 22 1 1
