Hi Guys, not much to report this week but the wheels on the loco coal wagon have now been cleaned off.

Yesterday, I took delivery of three Gresley Teak carriages. Despite been well packed, two arrived with broken running boards. So they are being replaced by Hattons. I suspect these suffered rough handling during inspection?

This weekend we are away again in the van. We are parked up at a great little pub next door to the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway. We have tickets booked for tomorrow.

Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Nick. Sitting outside having breakfast as the weather (at the moment) is fine but overcast.

Got first class  tickets booked for the 1.30pm train. Looking forward to seeing some of the pre grouping rolling stock they have.

Cheers, Ade.

Seeing the first photograph of LNER stuff on GWR metals I was about to comment about having too many beers then I saw the next couple !

Enjoy your travels.

Thought that I would post an update.

Today the replacements for the two defective Gresley Teak carriages arrived. Thankfully this time all in one piece. How the heck they couple together though is another matter. Talk about fiddly…..

Non modelling wise, Lez and I have taken the plunge and bought a couple of electric bikes. Nothing as flash as Graeham’s but they fold up and will fit in the van. So the last two nights have been spent building them up.

Also been fitting CCTV at my Dad’s last weekend. This will give me peace of mind that I can check he is ok around the clock. He is 87 now and a bit doddery on this feet. Caught him Gardening tonight despite him saying no more after a fall a few weeks ago.

So hopefully this weekend I will be able to relax and do a bit more on the layout.

Cheers, Ade.

Yes they are fun and do take the stress out of a trip.

Here's mine it's a CUBE Acid.  I've been very taken with Grahame's and am on the point of ordering one.

Today’s proposed bike ride did not happen due to lousy weather being forecast. So we have postponed it to another weekend.

So instead I had a run out to a local model shop in Ilkeston which I had not been to before. Lez went to the garden centre instead to get Patch a cat nip plant. I came home with another six trees for the layout which I have been planted while we are having a thunderstorm tonight.

Lots more trees needed as said before, but it is starting to fill a bit now opposite the station platform.

It did not take him long to get stuck into the cat nip!

Cheers, Ade.

I wonder why the photographed it with the tyre valves at the top of the wheels, and the Chris’ name, upside-down, at the bottom…

Its obvious, he must have been an Ozzy.:D

GModelscnics do a nice range of trees at very competitive prices,

mainly spruce but they do also do deciduous as well.
There’s also MBR who’s trees are more expensive but the quality is superb

Came across a 3D printed Gresley corridor end cover the other night on E Bay. It was designed to fit an Ian Kirk kit but a quick measure up confirmed it would fit the Hattons Brake Composite. It arrived today. It consists of two parts. A quick fettle up with a file of the blanking plate to ensure a friction fit into the corridor and it was then glued to the end cover. So the whole assembly can be clipped on or off as desired. A nice detail and a great price at £3.25 including postage. Will prime it up tomorrow.

One question? Would the LNER lettering be picked out in white?

Just need an LNER pattern tail lamp now to complete the carriage.

Cheers, Ade.
