Brilliant; you’ve captured the slightly bemused way they sort of mill around aimlessly while pretending not to notice the others perfectly.

That’s not a very nice thing to say about the postie :jester:

Al, you missed the stray cows going into the field as the sheep came out.  The perversity of animals.

:D

Cheers Derek, I'd better go and find them.

I noticed, on the photos last night, that all the sheep appear to be wearing lipstick... I've heard of lipstick on a pig, but never on a sheep.

Moreover, I have never, ever, seen a sheep with a pink nose, they are always black or grey, even new-born lambs.

So I decided they needed a repaint.

That's better.

You know far too much about sheep Al, enough already!!

As Derek very nearly said, something about perversity and animals comes to mind...

I haven't posted anything for a few days, as there hasn't been anything to show you.

What I've been doing is cutting loads and loads of styrene "stone" to start building the parapet walls on the embankment.

Here's the first two courses of the front wall:

Right, back to the stone breaking...

Thanks for looking,

Al.

Sorry we get 3 photos and that represents "cutting loads and loads of styrene stone".  Where are all the how to photos?

I feel cheated.

All good stuff since my last visit here....I seem to look in on here whenever I have been to see my mate who lives down t'valley .

I have now learnt that I passed through what appears to be a pinch style on my way back up the fields....I never knew thats what they were called!

I dont know if limestone walls have what we refer to as phantom gates and dog holes, but either or both would be something a little different if more walls are needed...

Phantom gates are where a possible gateway was included in the wall, but is currently blocked up with a bit more wall.

Dog holes (not to be confused with Dove Holes :D) are the little gaps at the bottom of a wall between fields.....which fit a dog, but not a sheeep..... Though I believe they are really there to allow lambs to get to the fresh grass before their mothers do.....

In East Leicestershire, fences appear to have small holes in them that allow lambs and sometimes sheep to squeeze through onto the road, but which are strangely one-way only holes.

Is there a word for that, or is it just poor farming?

Thanks very much. As Derek said above, the walls I've modelled so far are rather too well built. My excuse is that they are regularly maintained to keep the sheep in, but I would like to model some more typically ramshackle walling, and it would be fun to incorporate you phantom gates and dog holes as well. There's plenty more walling needed, so we'll see.

Cheers,

Al.

Well, a week of styrene cutting has eventually resulted in this:

Which doesn't look too dissimilar to this:

When the blisters have gone down a bit, I'll start on the other side.

Thanks for looking,
