RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted February 10, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 10, 2021 Evening gents, sorry I've not replied sooner, I've been avoiding computers in my leisure time for a bit. Sadly no modelling to speak of recently, but have some ideas which might bare fruit in a while. Thanks for checking up on me Al. 10
mullie
Know how you feel, I now spend my working day in front of a screen so I spend less of my leisure time in front of one. However, because I'm only travelling into work two days in every two weeks I have gained some time in the evenings, so have been able to spend some time modelling, just not much progress worth photographing lately. Streaming live music lessons to classes of teenagers is really quite an intense experience. The updates will be worth waiting for. RMweb Gold Popular Post Alister_G Posted February 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 26, 2021 (edited) I've been taking another look through the photos taken up on the moors in November last year, and by a bit of judicious cropping, have got some new pictures from some which at first didn't look very inspiring. See what you think: Thanks for looking, Al. Edited February 5, 2023 by Alister_G replaced images 30 6
RMweb Gold Popular Post Alister_G Posted February 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 26, 2021 (edited) To give you an idea, the third picture above, with the gate in the sunshine, is a major crop of this photo, which at first glance has nothing usable: Al. RMweb Gold chuffinghell Posted February 26, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 26, 2021 (edited) If I didn’t know differently I would think they were photos of the real thing, fantastic stuff I’m obviously not referring to the photo with the oversized Land Rover in it Edited February 26, 2021 by chuffinghell 4

RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted February 26, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 26, 2021 Good to see you Al. This had to be one of the best photos of a train set that I have ever seen or probably will see. Simply stunning. Rob. 8 22 1 1
MrWolf
Definitely, you really can't see the join! That drystone wall could be on the edge of the model. What is the building with the brick chimneys?
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted February 26, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 26, 2021 Thank you Rob, and err, Rob... I really appreciate your comments. @MrWolf the brick building is a shunter's hut on the layout. Al. 5

RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted February 27, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 27, 2021 Thanks guys, for all your comments. @Andrew P on the "How Realistic" thread you asked "and what's your NEXT project mate?" When it gets a bit warmer I'm hoping to take some video out on the moors in the same location. I've been gathering together all the necessary technical bits to make that possible. I've also started another 2 foot module to add on the end of the embankment board to allow a train to approach from off the embankment. sb67
Stunning photo's Al. Testimony to good model making that the colours on the layout blend superbly with the backdrop of the real world. Great stuff! 6

Classsix T
Apologies Al, rather more pressing matters at chez Rayner (undoubtedly elsewhere too). Life must be returning to something approaching good or normal though, I've found a moment to pop by. Hope you and yours are well. Great pic, take care.
