That last one is a work of art, none of this namby-pamby sawing planks, just use the damn tree trunks... :D

Al.

Another bit of old school green thinking. Those are the leftover bits from squaring tree trunks in a sawmill. It actually makes a very cheap, well ventilated shed. I panelled in the ends of a tin roofed lean to and made it weatherproof for parking cars under. One of my friends built a firewood store our of it and I pinched the idea.

I think so too.

There can't be many layouts that don't have a shed of some description.

It's a British institution, or rather was, to build what is known as vernacular architecture. Building a shed in the backyard was something that a working man did for practical and economic purposes.

Books have been written and government funded studies conducted about the socioeconomic necessity of the British Shed, I kid you not!

People are now better off and less practically skilled and today a shed is something that you buy from B&Q for £99.99 and fill up with crap because the garage is full of crap when it should be full of car.

We could have a file of inspirational pictures of sheds and also pictures of our efforts in miniature. I can start one

Who's for a shed thread?

Look, I'm trying to manage my shed addiction, and then along you come and start waving a whole pack of them under my nose...

You're really not helping, you know...

A quick update then.

I have finished and painted the timber frame:

Which means I can start with the corrugation:

Thanks for looking,

That is looking great Alister, the colouring of the interior is spot on. I like the attention to detail with the heads of the twist nails too. Can I ask who makes the corrugated iron sheets that you are using?

Oh lordy. As someone who only "does" one side of their rolling stock (because you'll only usually view one side) painting the frame of a shed before cladding it seems to me a job that doesn't need doing, but then I'm lazy. Kudos Al.

Cheers Carl mate.

I know, you'll never see it once the roof's on, but "I" will know it's there.

Splendid idea. That's one I'll follow, for sure.

Oh dammit, now you've given me another idea...

A shed containing a half rebuilt Land Rover, and all the bits scattered around. That would be a cracking little cameo for something.

Surely that’s a garage rather than a shed?
