Would you believe it, some absolute goit has built a wall all the way across the embankment. How am I supposed to get my sheep up the lane now?

Oh, and they didn't make a very good job of joining it up, either...

Well that's better, I suppose...

Now in white primer, and a bit of grassage as well:

And finally with a first paint:

Just got to decide how to do the archway, now.

Thanks for looking,

Al.

Looks like you will have to give your sheep a good supply of picks and shovels to get through that embankment!

:D Yep. Or just tell them the grass is greener the other side...

Thanks Chris,

There's an old Derbyshire saying, "dunna whittle yussen". So I didn't, I whittled some plastic instead.

I've started to make the raw material for walling, by removing the edges off some styrene strip, and then chopping it into little pieces:

There's a whole lot more of that to do, but in the meantime, I've finished making the second arch, for the back of the embankment:

Still not happy with the join.

I managed to have some quality modelling time this morning, and got a fair bit done.

Here's the front arch for the passageway under the embankment:

ladmanlow1078.jpg.4441ad3604501ec5e1c8252320ac4502.jpg

to the back of which I stuck some offcuts of 80thou styrene sheet:

These will both strengthen the arch, which was showing signs of warping a bit, and also provide attachment for the internal walls of the passage.

So I spent some time carefully measuring and cutting the side walls to shape:

ladmanlow1080.jpg.51f5defed88e2d43d34038e795969fa0.jpg

And then the roof, which was curved by simply bending the sheet between every course of stone:

ladmanlow1081.jpg.5ca91f72cc1e124729d997fd7a50a3fb.jpg

this fits the curve of the top of the arch:

ladmanlow1082.jpg.840a5121f8f6622000ff3a6c569aea9d.jpg

And joins to the sides like so:

ladmanlow1083.jpg.e5bc9d820cb03d9d0325dbcf4884742a.jpg

When I was happy with the fit, I painted the walls and roof:

ladmanlow1084.jpg.42be9a91c0f48df4c5dca292366fa644.jpg

using the same technique as for the embankment walls, but with the addition of some dry-brushed green to show some water leakage and moss.

Another test fit:

and then I stuck it all together:

ladmanlow1086.jpg.dcd7098768c153e80c2061d6841426d8.jpg

and then put in place on the board:

I placed the embankment wall back in position, although it's not stuck down yet:

I reckon that looks quite good, I'm pleased with it so far.

The grass has taken a bit of a beating though, I'm going to have to recover it I think.

Thanks for looking,

Al.
