I always have to smile when I pass it. I can only presume the owner like you is not too keen on building walls and much prefers building gates. The whole thing is looking pretty good by the way! 53 minutes ago, GWR57xx said: That looks great. I don't think you need to add any more fence. Blazing Saddles - Le Petomane Thruway Thanks guys. There was a similar meme doing the rounds a while ago, showing a robust steel security gate across a footpath, with unfenced grass verges both sides, entitled "Boris's CoronaVirus Policy" Al.

I didn’t know he had one, other than bumbling along (which in times without crisis, may be the best form of government). I suppose there was this at the start of the year: 2

RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted May 20, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 20, 2020 (edited) This afternoon I grassed the last remaining field behind the embankment, and added the next bit of wall: So that's all the module with basic ground cover applied now. RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted May 20, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 20, 2020 This evening then, as promised, I did a bit of fencing. I used an offcut of foamboard to stick the fenceposts into whilst I threaded the wires. I'm using the remains of the Scalescenes post and wire fencing that was used on the main layout, as I've got loads left. I then gave it a blast of an aerosol paint to act as a primer. Red seemed an appropriate colour. When that had dried, I painted the posts in Dark Earth, and then the wires in Brick Red: With that done, I added the fence to the board: You can see that I've had a go at some brambly undergrowth as well: I think the fence looks good: Thanks for looking, Al. 13

RMweb Gold Popular Post Alister_G Posted May 20, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted May 20, 2020 There's plenty left to do, but I thought I'd take the module into the cellar and join it up with the main layout. So here it is: The join between the two isn't all that bad, it matches really well this side: This side, not so much: Anyway, never mind all that. Here's a train! A distant shot, (from the cellar stairs) with the limestone cutting I made for Bakewell in the background. Very C&HPR. Thanks for looking. sb67
That is looking fantastic Al. The fence and brambles look great, I love that last photo with the train passing over and the cutting in the background, superb!
KNP
Looking great. Already you can get the feel of the atmosphere of wide open wind swept places. Great angle for pictures, looking up at the train. Any thoughts on a wind swept, gnarled and battered tree/s?
