Eh? I can see this is bothering you, so I went ahead and installed the mains feed, isolater and consumer unit, and wired up the lathe. I'll have to come back tomorrow for the sockets, guv. Al. RMweb Gold Rowsley17D Posted July 20, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 20, 2021 Given the openness of your structure should you not have installed waterproof sockets to IP66 and switches to IP55? 11
MrWolf
It's a farm, you would be lucky if the sockets even work and if one does, it will be an old bakelite job with half the cover smashed off, so that you have to be careful not to touch anything live every time you use it .

Yeah, it's the 1960s, they are lucky to have electrickery Hopefully you can tell that they are the galvanised conduit and boxes - they will probably be weathered and rusted up a bit. MrWolf
You can indeed and often on a farm conduit reverts to its Roman ancestry and directs rainwater from leaky rooves and out of the plug socket. No kidding, I've seen it happen! 2
RMweb Gold Popular Post Alister_G Posted July 20, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 20, 2021 (edited) I've started to make the shed look used now. So there's a general feeling of clutter around the Land Rover: There's stuff on the shelves: and tools on the workbench: On the other side, we have an ancient field roller, a cart wheel, and a lawnmower, because why not: I also scratchbuilt an oxy-acetelyne set. On the ground, there's a couple of leaf springs, and the previous engine and gearbox I built, separated and stuck in odd corners. This is beginning to look how I had envisaged the scene, now. Thanks for looking, Al. Edited February 3, 2023 by Alister_G replaced images 13
