All gone very quiet here ...  Regardless, just in case of interest to @danstercivicman or any other Stranraerites (maybe clay holers, for those more familiar with the place?) there are currently a couple of pictures from circa 1965 on ebay of the pier from an arriving ferry, so something a bit different.  See (hope these mega long links work!):

The suggested related items also include a view of the signal box from 1979 and some other views of the station from 1983.

 

The seller's notes say that the two ones from a ferry are "Produced on a Print & Supply basis from an image hosted on Geograph" and that they are copyright of an Alan Reid, but I couldn't find them on Geograph, but then I'm not very familiar with it.
