rogerfarnworth
Apologies if there is already a significant series of posts on the forum about this line. It has fascinated me for some time. I hope this post is of interest. Does anyone have further information? http://rogerfarnworth.com/2018/12/31/the-listowel-and-ballybunion-railway
rogerfarnworth
As a follow up …………….. I have been sent a number of links to videos including one to a model built in O Gauge. The first link should take you to the model, the remaining links are primarily to videos taken at the site in Ireland. I have also been sent a link to another page about the railway, the link to that page can be found beneath the videos. An HO model of the line, together with more information and pictures: https://irishwaterwayshistory.com/rail/the-lartigue-monorail-in-listowel
leslie10646
I can heartily recommend a visit to the replica railway at Listowel. I was leading a Great Rail Journeys group in Ireland a few years ago and rang ahead on spec. They found me a crew and gave us the works at very short notice. My group (30 plus) thought it was a great experience.
rue_d_etropal
There was a book published by Oakwood Press .I luckily picked up a copy a few years ago and had wondered about a model as it has drawings of the stock. I remember there were some articles in Model Railways magazine back in te 70s/80s. Book can still be found https://www.amazon.co.uk/Listowel-Ballybunion-Railway-Locomotion-Papers/dp/0853613761/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1546627046&sr=8-1&keywords=Listowel+and+Ballybunion+Railway Edited January 4, 2019 by rue_d_etropal
jhb171achil
Wow! That layout! Never saw anything like that before - excellent. One may hope that the real thing didn't bounce about as much as that model loco.....
