I've left the mini at home, but you're right, it should be wider.  Ah well...

Just for some idea of sizes here's some roughly contemporary vehicle widths:

BL (Austin) Mini             4ft 7 1/2in (1.41m)
Austin Maxi                    5ft 4in (1.63m)
Vauxhall Viva                 5ft 4.7in (1.64m)
Ford Cortina Mk3         5ft 7in (1.7m)

Land Rover Series 3     5ft 6in (1.67)

I know that I could fit my Landy in my Dad's garage and walk down both sides of it through the doors, which would suggest a 7 to 8 foot door aperture, however that was a biggish garage, probably larger than the average domestic one.

Thanks for those.

The door measures 48mm in width.  Assuming a scale of 7mm/1ft, that makes the door a smidge over under 7ft wide.

Which, considering the garage was built in the age of the Austin 7 (w: 4' 3"), probably makes the door plenty wide.

Phew.

Even today a couple of years ago the last defenders were just 5ft 11 inches wide and the extra was just the rubber wheel arch covers, It's a narrow vehicle..

Do you think Shawplan do flush glazing for 7mm Minis?

That looks great Stu, the sunlight really sets it off. I love all the subtle changes of surface near the gate as well, looks really good.

In the second photo, the grass verge has a very sharply defined straight edge, could you break that up a bit?

Hopefully a bit more longer grass will help with breaking up the straight lines.

I made a bicycle for Wheal Tiny which was placed next to the winding house. It was stuck in place better than I thought...

A new frame is needed, me thinks.

Hi Stu, I hope you weren't standing up on the pedals when the frame broke. All the best now singing soprano Adrian.

A new bike is being fabricated.

#2 Bill still needs a final bit of painting to add shadows and facial features. The bike obviously needs the handlebars, seat and pedals adding.

#1 Bill & #3 Bill also need a final bit of painting. I'll not be sticking any of the Bills to the ground, so precarious balancing and careful manoeuvring of the diorama will be required for the photoshoot.

I've learnt a new thing today!

I was going to say to you that surely the corrugated sheets should be overlapped and staggered as you would with tiles, but some quick googling seems to suggest that commonly that's not the case, and your portrayal is very much prototypical.

Apologies to Stu, but this shows how much room there was round my Series 3 in the garage entrance:

Admittedly, it was missing a few bits... :D

Al.

Nice job, yours is much more complete than my series 3!
