Layout of private sidings

I'm not quite sure where the design has progressed to, but surely if the entrance gate is close to the toe of the three way entry point, the factory's shunter will have to encroach on BR tracks to actually shunt the yard? Even the proposed engine siding might not help, as it would have to be available during shunting. There were locations where industrial locos had limited access to BR sidings, so that might be the solution, the problem being the lack of space on the model which wasn't always the case on the real thing.
